Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:I've been doing a lot of research lately on the new auction sites that have sprouted up in the past 2 years. My conclusion so far, with WP included, they have no buyers The problem's been going on for years. The buyers are usually the site's small community of sellers. WP actually has a lot more buyers than many small auction sites sites (case in point: PlunderHere, 530 total sales since 1/1, $3400 total sales since 1/1. 820 members. HiBidder isn't much better than Plunder for sales. FYI for the Karma Gremlins: Sneaky (kind of) had a few good things to say about WP in this post on the Plunder thread http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...l#msg49592). Sellers want an alternative but the vast majority of auction buyers have absolutely no interest in switching to a new auction site. Sellers would be much better off targeting the 75% of online buyers who don't shop at auction sites than they would be hoping (as they have been for 8 years) that an alternative auction site arises that appeals to the 25% of buyers who buy on auction sites.

BBH & others, Thanks for the info and the PM's. I will work on the header issue when I get home tonight. I just called my old ISP to get them to update the DNS. I still can't access the new site from here.

Quote:It is one thing to have a conversation among the members that is constructive... however, when members start to feel threatened or attacked then the post needs to be edited/censored to stop the downward roll of the thread. And that is exactly where that post was going... downhill. People were starting to read it just to see how far it would go... and like any "accident" that is putting a kink in the flow of traffic that needs to be flowing steadily onward toward success. Does that make any sense.?? Maybe not, but I do understand where Karen & Staff stand on this issue and I have followed their routine of pulling posts long enough to be thankful that they do this.... it is for the GOOD of Wagglepop and its members. WTF ? Oh yeah.... |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Sneaky... hopefully some of the WP lurkers here will see your post and see what Ray's temper is really like. He is very hypocritical... friendly? NOT!! Constructive? NEVER! Lurkers... this was your leader in action... this is the person you say you trust... hmm... why not start your own site and say bye bye to fees and aggravation?
Now on a lighter note... 'Nana girl... CONGRATULATIONS on the adwords campaign... I only have my Yahoo Adwords ads running right now... then Google will run and I'll pause Yahoo... I'm trying to see what hits I get and from where. I'm telling ya babe... int'l shipping is the way to go... BUT if you are just going to ship domestic... make sure that your adwords campaign is only showing on US searches. I have mine set up that way because I only have a very small daily budget and feel that the US is enough but I am getting hits on google, yahoo, msn and others from all over the world. You can set up zones in your campaign so your ads only show in certain regions/countries. Bill set up my site meter on my .net site and the referral domains are from everywhere!!! I swear, I could just sit and watch that thing all day!!! LOL The thing I like about Site Meter is it only counts unique visits AND most importantly, it doesn't count bots and spiders so I get a more accurate ACTUAL hit count. I zeroed out the counters on my site meter and my zen cart the day before yesterday and now the site meter shows about 330 hits and the zen counter is over 4000!!! That's a big difference!! LOL I had issues setting up the java version on my zen cart site but Bill made a separate footer bar and it's working just fine now. I'm wishing you the best of luck sweetie!! It' a lot of work but at the end of the day, the money goes into the pocket of the person who deserves it... the person who did the work!!! LOL |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Platz, I have sitemeter and google analytics (it stopped working but I think I figured it out). It has sooo many features, that I am still learning them all. I just set goal conversions today. It shows you if people are leaving right before checking out, etc...
I also had a sale today. My adwords are set up for US only. I have had sooo many hits today looking at sitemeter from all over the world. It must be from submitting to the zen showcase stores. Even a view from Romania. I need Bill to help me so I can use the javascript version of sitemeter. PM me if you have a chance. I have your site both in the banners and on my links page setup. |

Fine, I'll hook you up.
I need to do a survey to see what size shoes all you TT'ers wear. I have done an informal survey and it appears size 9 is average. Tell your DH Fine that at least you are getting a bargain. |
