, Pet Guy. Are you a seller on WP?
Quote:Mid 2005: I stopped dragging my customers from venue to venue. It was hurting my reputation. I'd get them to buy from me somewhere, they'd go back weeks/months later and the place would be gone. I'd get a "...what happened to the site?" note and feel pretty stupid for having suggested they join, especially when the next note was, "...what happened to my account information?" Bad for me and bad for the alternatives, to have security questions dangling. This was a MAJOR concern to me, as well. From my customer's point of view, I was afraid of appearing like a total idiot for aligning myself with fly-by-night sites with boinktards as owners. Frankly, it was embarrassing, as this reflected poorly on me. The way Karen treated a couple of my buyers made me want to hide in the corner with my tail tucked between my legs. I did announce my presence on HiBidder to a few, but now I'm even considering NOT telling my buyers about my eCrater store, but rather lay low, avoid the radar and see how it develops. I'm beginning to think the only REAL alternative to eBay is having an independent web site. And even if I knew enough to put one together, I don't have the expertise to know how to properly promote it. I'm still trying to figure out what an RSS feed is. Maybe some enterprising soul here at TT will come up with "Web-Site-in-a-Box", the step-by-step video guide for putting a site together and promoting it for the complete, blithering idiot. It would be hosted by TT, of course. Oh, and Ray, I noticed your boards these days are as lack-luster as yesterday's mashed potatoes. No complaints, no cheers, no discussion, NOTHING. Seems sellers are just too tired to bother, and since it's verboden to talk about no sales, there's not much to say. |

I have an idea of what a RSS feed is but do not know all the ways it can be used.....lol This is all a catch 22, you hear something good about a site, take time to set up in the hopes this will be the place with potential, get slapped in the face with reality, and then you try again hoping the next time you will get it right. OT~My daughter is leaving for her 8th grade trip to Washington tomorrow for 4 days and I am a nervous wreck! She has never been away from me that long! I know, I know...its pathetic right?....lol |

Pet Guy!!
Brat - My baby (ok, she's 17 but she's still my baby!) went to NYC for four days in January with her Spanish class. Even though she's been away before for a day or so, never like that. I swear I didn't sleep at all, lol. I'm sure your daughter will have a great time - it really is a great experience for them!

Thanks Eclectica,
I guess they are always our babies no matter how old they get. She keeps telling me, "Mom, I'll be fine". She is very book smart but not street wise. I think I just watch too much CNN, its horrible what is going on in the world these days, makes you afraid to let your kids out of your sight. I do not think I will be sleeping much either until she gets home...lol |

Welcome Pet Guy!
My 15 yr. old 'baby' went to the Cotton Bowl with the band for a week in December/January. I too was a nervous wreck! I got her a Tracfone and had her text message me thru the whole trip. LOL
Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Well I guess I am not as pathetic as I first thought.....lol I am giving her my cel phone and making her check in every night. I have been giving her advice all weekend that has been met with a mix of rolling & evil eyes....lol Keep your money in your front pocket, keep your purse towards the front of you, be aware of your surroundings, stay with the group. Do not leave anything of value in your hotel room....... Hopefully she hears my annoying voice in her head the whole trip..... |

I want my WEBSITE IN A BOX, the "plug 'n' play" web site creation and promotion application tool with TT web hosting -- designed for the complete, blithering idiot. Come on, you TT mod techie geniuses out there.
How many on this thread need something like that. RAISE YOUR HANDS! Hey, there are beds-in-a-bag, so why not! :turkey1: |

We wouldn't be "moms" if we didn't worry. I think it comes with the job description! As far as the websites, if you get your hosting here, TT will install your cart for you. The plain carts aren't much to look at, but they are fairly easy to figure out once installed. Just go for it, lol!
