Once again, it's all the sellers fault.  Ray is about to announce a fee increase or slam the door shut totally.

You know when KaRay was saying that 65% of the time, when an item is put in browse, zero items show up?  Don't get excited poppers, but I type in at least 5 random products per day.  I AM the 65%.  I'm not there to shop...I'm there to see just how bad it's getting.

Traffic from "buyers" is from your friends here at TT that still lurk.  We are sad to see that you list and list and nothing happens.  We wish you well.

Ray, we wish many things for you, but "well" is not one of them.

The Wanted feature is part of Rscript too. Ray are you running out of things to turn on in your program. WP a big site?

Online sellers that want to try and then leave WP, can leave, and we wish them nothing but the best of luck and look forward to the opportunity to earn their participation again in the future.

But not until you hold off on the closing, and bill for services not rendered. Then you wish them nothing but the best by banning their account or deleting their farewell post.

Translation: the nearly 20 RScript features that Ray hasn't activated yet (and maybe the phpBB forum features he removed like profiles and search)

Building a business the size of WP is hard.

That would include every member of PeSA and IMA. If WP had the potential to be a viable alternative these sellers who have a pretty good track record of spotting trends would be at WP--but they're not, instead they're at Amazon, Ubid, Overstock and building their own websites. 

everything about WP is built "big" to handle and plan for that.

Yes, traffic is down at Wagglepop. It's also down at just about every comparable auction site on almost the exact same pace over the exact same period.

It is a reflection of all online traffic, not just WP.

All online ecommerce traffic is up dumbass.  If it's down at WP or other auction sites its an indication that most online buyers (over 75%) increasingly prefer fixed price ecommerce sites to auction sites and are going elsewhere to shop.

I'm bringing this forward because I'd really like your input. The original post ended up buried a few pages back. I know, I know, I'm the main culprit because I've been flooding (Moses?, Noah? - have you met Ray yet???) the thread with posts today.

So here it is again:

Here is an interesting observation that another TTer brought to my attention. Thanks Unique. Lets revisit the mat guy. Yesterday most of us who stayed tuned can confirm that 9250 listings were completed by him. He even confirmed this in a thread on WP. We're all familiar with the schedule of WP updating the number of listings overnight. Today however this store STILL shows 6750 under 'All Items' and not the 9250 that were supposedly uploaded.

In the past we've come to recognize that the infamous duplicate listings do not show up under All Items. Would it then be a leap of assumption that 2,500 of these listings are duplicate?

Any other theories out there on how this could be explained? Truly a puzzling phenomena.  icon_scratch

This contruction mess at our house plus the clean up of the big storms last night has gotten in the way big time today, so I'm about 4-5 pages behind ... again. However, I did want to post this before I sit down to play catch up.

He even confirmed this in a thread on WP. We're all familiar with the schedule of WP updating the number of listings overnight.

My guess: WP was down during the time the cron job for listing counts was scheduled to run and so it won't be updated until tonight (provided WP doesn't crash again).

I'd hardly call that some sort of overwhelming censorship campaign LOL

I remember addressing some concerns about fraudulent PS3 & Wii listings on the boards.  I was just trying to be a helpful popper warning people to make sure before they consider buying and what to consider as proof the seller had the product before buying.  Well I got an email from "Karen" thanking me for the good information and something to the effect that she removed a few or them that looked suspicious.  Well that was all fine and good until I went to check the post I had made an hour earlier it vanished!  No reason was given as to what the offence was.  If that is not overwhelming censorship, I do not know what is!  This is getting better and better by the hour.   :turkey1: :turkey2:  Pass the popcorn
