Stores closed during the last couple of days: CC's Clothes Closet - 322 items, closed. Was there a long time. Sage-Rose-Attic - 40 items, empty but not closed. WELCOME HOME - 10 items, closed. 4craftysisters - 2 items, closed. That one was short lived... BIG BIG FUN was empty - now has 20 items. A lot of new ones have cropped up. I don't know about you but to me many of them look the same and have that 'slapped up in a hurry' look. [/quote] Sherrand, Great post and keep them coming. I think many more ghost stores will be popping up over the next week or so as the termination day approaches. By my count just a little while ago, 41 stores have 20 or fewer items listed, 63 have 50 or fewer items listed and 96 have 100 or fewer items listed. Out of those 96 most are either, your term, parked or qualify as a ghost store. The most importent thing to remember is the parked stores don't end there. Look at page one, last store on the page can't process orders at this time. That is about the most rediculas thing I have ever seen. I mean if you can't take an order why even keep your store up. Is it the fear that you won't be able to close and get those items back up under the same name? Maybe it is an everyday life issue or something, I don't know but if I was a buyer and seen a message like that I would begin to wonder what the reasons are, is it the seller or is it a problem with the site. Then go to page 2 and there is another that is out of town until the 30th but managed to answer emails on the 16th? It makes no sense and only fudges the store count. Having those types of statements listed in the stores pages only makes the site look bad. Isn't there a way to put your store on vacation mode in these cases? My point is those stores are parked as far as I am concerned and there are parked stores throughout the site. It doesn't matter what a stores listing count is, there are many parked stores on every page of the site. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." P.S. Happy Birthday Sky Hawker |

Truth, there is no way to put your store on vacation on WP. I asked KaRay this question once and she/he/it told me to post a global note to say when I will be back. The only other options are to close it down, lose it all, including your seller ID. How Mickey Mouse is that? :

On the other hand if there is anything I have learned when it comes the rscript and all these rinky dink sites is anything can be done if they want to do it. In this case with WP Ray wants the store count to appaer higher then it really is, hence the ghost stores and stores like this. All I can say is Ray is lazy and stupid at the same time. He preaches about SSP being one fee for all your listings so it shouldn't matter if you have 0 listings or 100,000 listing's it is still the same $9.95 per month. Who wants to deal with there store when they are on vaction? Not me, I take a vaction to get away from work how about the rest of you? Any site that won't allow you to close your store with a link easily accessable or put it on vaction just as easily is an Amature site at best. I mean eCrater you can do either one of these in a minute. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." |

Rest, drinks with umbrellas, cabana boys, sun, sand and nothing but beach! I went away last winter for 3 weeks and couldn't put the WP store on vacation. Nothing to worry about though, because there were no sales! :o Ray is probably a whole lot of *lazy and stoooooooooooopid" and GREEDY! The Karma monster got to me too, so I must be doing something right, as well. Here's to you, Karma monster |
