Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Update of Stores Closed:
Collectors Corner 333 items, closed. Been de-listing for the past week. Scott Bulger Photography - 325 items, closed. The same guy who vowed to be the last to leave and volunteered to turn the light off on his way out... The hard efforts of the poppers that participated in last week's listing contest were wiped out today. A couple of other stores appear to be de-listing but I'll report on them later. 3 ghost stores that were showing closed back in Jan-Feb have been reactivated. When exactly I don't know. I just discovered this over the weekend. They were definitely recorded in my database as closed and reported here in the past as such. No items currently listed in any of them. The names will sound familiar to the old timers here. They are: Lainees Loft - http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/Lainees-Loft E-Clothing Outlet - http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/eclothingoutlet Ducky's Dream - http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/duckys-dream Obviously Karay is bending over backwards to keep the store count above 245. New stores are cropping up minutes before or after one is being closed. So fast in fact that unless you constantly refresh the page, you wouldn't realize an older store left and was replaced with a new arrival. A few of the new stores that were slapped on still have eBay links in them. I'm sure eBay will appreciate that. KaRay; you can't fool your poppers forever!
That's why I said "empty but not closed". I know the regulars here understand my style of reporting. It is based on the stores no longer showing which would cover ones closed or just empty but I do specify which. I hope this clarifies it for you. And thanks for the heads up about Steph.

User security has always been Ray's #1 priority....well except for the time he put a list of 4000+ WP1 users' email addresses out in the open on a forum thread to be indexed by email harvesters...and then there was the little thing with user credit cards during WP1.

The Bingo card store had me stymied. I didn't figure it would be around too long.
I am absolutely shocked that Scott left, though. I guess his website has really taken off. So, basically, what's left? Vintage ads, collectors cards, handmade jewelry, crochet items, soap, candles, Star Wars collectibles and some clothing? Not much to attract buyers.
I hate stupid people!

Add mineral makeup to your list Fine. 5 new stores selling it have cropped up in the last 3 days. And checking the new members who have signed up on WP in the same time frame, and I assume have been 'verified', there are quite a few that hail from Great Britain. Is KaRay calling in markers from his British connections? Or perhaps Silver Charms is assisting with this influx?
And the Bingo cards 4 U store has now been closed.

Analogy of a store.
Today I will feature Devonsgiftshop. They registered April 17, 2007 and hail from Texas. Here is a copy/paste of their store header. It hasn't changed in the 5 weeks this store has been active and neither has any product other than the original 4 items been added. Quote:Welcome to Devon's Gift Shop! A little about us: Devon's Gift Shop is a home based business run out of our home in McGregor, Texas. We are proud to say that we are a family owned business and we are born and all of our stores and websites are family oriented. My name is Devon, and I am the own Bet you read this header more than once. I sure did. I'm just tickled to learn they were born and not hatched. And a home-based business run out of their home - what a novel idea!! The listings are nicely done; professional looking even. It begs the question - did the same person who took such pride in creating the listings author the jumbled mess in the header? Not knowing the last name of this family oriented business it is nigh onto impossible to verify their claim that they have stores and websites. I did however find a new eBay registration made on April 18, 2007 for this exact name to someone who lives... guess...yep, in Texas. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=devonsgiftshop&ftab=AllFeedback Look at the picture on listing number 430586. Does it perhaps resemble this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/Two-Person-Hammock_W...dZViewItem and does item number 430205 resemble this eBay auction picture - from the same seller? http://cgi.ebay.com/Hammock-Chair_W0QQit...dZViewItem Does to me. Why even the auction titles are the same. My conclusion? This store is a lie. It just doesn't add up.

Code: <b><font size=5>Premium Rubber Floor Mats Hey, why not go for font size 7 or 8. It'll stand out more! Buyers don't want professional looking pages, they want BIG! The bigger the better!
Sneaky, someone heard you. The size has been reduced on stores #1 and #2... :twistedevil:
