Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
From DB:
Quote:I did, do and always maintain that Poopers get their sales from other Poopers. Nobody else knows they exist. I agree with you to a point. A good bulk of seller sales are from other sellers for a lot of the stores. But in my research I've found quite a few external buyers who have ordered. The pattern here is that the majority of them never come back and it's true, many of them don't leave feedback. Heck some sellers are guilty too in that they don't bother leaving feedback in reciprocation when their customer has taken the time to give it to them. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that some sellers are bypassing WP and doing repeat business on the side.

I think I only had 2 sellers buy from me. Most never left feedback. OT~ Any of you ever organize a street sale? That is what I have been busy doing. This is the third year I have put it together and it is a pain in the arse....lol I just got done walking the neighborhood with 80 flyer's and I am beat! |

Morning Karma, as a matter of fact he has had one post that I know of deleted in the past. It was a thread he started a couple of months ago about sellers leaving. It received a couple of posts before it was yanked which was within the hour. Didn't phase him then either.
He is just such a nice guy, I cannot believe that doesn't phase him in the least. So sad.
From DB: Quote:I did, do and always maintain that Poopers get their sales from other Poopers. What I sell is available all over the place. So unless you have tried it, why would you go to WP? Even if you have, there is still no need to go there. I have never had a hit to my WP store from outside WP. And yes, I have done multiple personal requests that didn't go through WP but originated from there. My own site was originally started for my local customers, but I of course have built upon it. I always get more traffic there than WP. I get traffic from searches, especially msn is good for me. It is the perfect example of why I feel people should have their own site. Why set up all those nice text rich features only to improve someone elses rankings?? |

And the count starts to climb ...
232 stores Hi all. Been busy with doing some home renovation. Then today I was down for the count for most of the day with a terrible migraine. ~sigh~ It feels like Murphy has been hanging around. I am now over 40 sales at my eCrater store. I am very pleased. Wasn't expecting so many sales within 2 months. I also have 7 feedbacks . Finally have over 350 items listed too. Now to up my goal to 500. Its a slow process but very worth it. Surprised to see so many older poppers who said they would hang in there until the end has left. Is this a sign? Hope everyone is having a great day with tons of sales. ~Patti~ |

With the talent I've seen from some of the sellers on WP, current and past, they could turn out their own dynamite looking website. And some have. Kudos to them!! But your point is perhaps what holds back so many others. The nice text rich features that they have become acquainted with, comfortable with and attached to. Giving up the store that they put so much heart into would match the emotional equivalence of euthanizing a beloved pet. Some people just can't bring themselves to do it. They instead have convinced themselves that their beloved pet will get better with time and concentrated care. They will see the cost of that time and care as no barrier.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
This post is dedicated to the lurkers here. It's safe to say most of you are current WP sellers. Hi PS et al!
For ye of little faith in what we claim, but possess an over-abundance of faith in what KaRay claims this post is for you. Here are some hard cold facts that can't be denied. Fact: Kumbaya closed or was closed yesterday morning with 8 items in their store. Here is the store link where you can verify this: http://www.wagglepop.com/stores/kumbayatradingcompany Are you with me so far? Fact: Many of us have reported that current listings remain live after a store has been closed if the owner did not take the time to de-list them first. That this practice pads the listing count either presented by KaRay or found on PSU. Fact: The 8 listings I refer to above are still live. Here are the links: http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213862 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213720 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213725 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213771 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213848 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213855 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213858 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=213859 Now stretch your brain cells for a moment for the next mental leap. If this one closed store still has listings showing active then can you concede that the others who departed in the same manner do as well? I can prove it is so if you want me to but that would involve citing 1,000's of listings. Fact: Karay is lower that a snakes belly crawling through a WW2 trench. Okay, okay, your thought process hasn't evolved that far - yet... :cinqo2:
