Our thoughts are with you for your loss. You made the right decision. Losing a family member is hard. Sharing it with friends can be comforting. I fell a kinship with you for pulling me kicking and screaming into the light. Dusty is at peace, hopefully peace will come to you in the days ahead.

DB... no new puppies for us. Our Dusty was irreplaceable. He was such a good dog. A real sweetheart.

We still have 3 cats and our hamster and that's plenty of pets...

DB I agree some might think it's too soon or wrong to think about another so soon. But when I had to put my dog down I took it really bad and someone recommened that I go to the shelter and rescue another saying it would make me feel better. Well I did go to the shelter I didn't end up rescuing a dog but I did rescue a cat. He was a huge cat he was 2 yrs old and he looked like he didn't really fit in the cage he could hardly move around in it. I took one look and could not leave him there. It did help me cope and feel better. I ended up getting another dog a while later.
