That is great news.  To all the WPers lurking on this thread contemplating leaving WP;  I know its not easy to give up on something that you put so much time and effort into.  I think that is why many take so long to leave.  Listen to your gut and look at the direction Ray is taking the site.  Read the plethora of information on this thread.  You can rebuild and do much better!  I remember the great feeling I had when I delisted my last item at WP, what a huge relief!  It was like a big weight had been lifted off my chest and I could breath again and be myself.  You can rebuild bigger and better than before!  You may get the "Copy & Paste Blues" but in the end its all well worth the trouble.  From the look of things now Ray is comming apart at the seams and it will not be much longer until the whole site goes poof!  Move your listings now before you loose them all.  Good luck to all of you!

Next weekend is our street sale and I have to get ready for that as well.  It is a lot of work!  I told everyone to have their money to me for the ad by this monday.  So far only 2 have paid and about 7 houses have replied out of the 80 flyers I passed out.  It happens the same way every year, we get last minute people that give me the money late or even on the day of the sale.  We had 4 houses last year that did not even pay or say they were participating put their stuff out.  I get mad because its a lot of work and I am only asking for $3 a house.  I make all the signs and put them up, put the ads in the paper, and put balloons on a stick in front of every house participating.  What a pain in the arse!  If this year is not better I am not doing it again.-------end of rant

I just got off the phone with my niece who said she'd be more than happy to come play with the kids this afternoon. ~whew~ This way I can get the tables out and cleaned. I usually ask family members if they want to participate. My sister said she wanted to, but its questionable at this point. Last time she did this to me, she dropped off stuff and then just left. ~sigh~ Well, here's hoping for nice weather and people with tons of money

Girl, I can sure relate to you!  Everything gets dropped off on me, and not just for the sale....lol  Kids, computers, resumes to create or fix, personal problems....ect. ect. ect.  Calgon take me away!  Hope you have a great sale!

Karma I meant to comment on this the other day but forgot until I just read the post below in the community lounge thread on WP.  I don't know Vas personally but what I do know is Vas was there at the begining of WP posting quite frequently and motivating everyone with quotes and so on.  All of a sudden Vas stopped posting in fact after a while I thought she left WP I went and checked and the store was still there she just wasn't posting.

Yesterday I noticed 2 other sellers posted to the communtiy lounge thread who were there at the begining who also had posted quite frequently then seem to dissapear.  One of them had even worked with Vas on the revolution newsletter that the sellers did near the begining of WP.  I actually thought these 2 sellers were gone they hadn't posted in such a long time.  I find it very odd that all of a sudden they all make a reappearence on the boards.  WP has been going down for months if they are just now trying to save the sinking ship I think their a little too late.  Sellers grab your life jackets.

I read about the google/e drama and I thought the same thing right away. It's only a matter of time before the New to WP boards starts going again. We will need a welcoming committee. You guys ready?

I always believe that people have a reason for conducting business the way they do and if I stop and anylize a bit it becomes clearly visible and it makes sense. When things make sense, it's easier to accept even if we disagree. When it comes to eBay I'm totally baffled.
How do you pull the plug on so many people that have become totally dependent on your ways of operation? I just don't get it.

The only time I've seen something similar is when a business wants to shut down and file for bankrupsy. Hmmm, Nah! It can't be.

What pace? Falling off the Alexa charts steadily? Losing 2/3 of their sellers over seven months' time? Talk about delusional.
This was being said a YEAR ago when the store count was much higher than it is now (at least by August/September).

An an FYI for the Poppers who have abandoned eBay and missed the Live Keynote last night. FVFs for auctions/fixed price will be lowered for the summer. A stores tab is forthcoming. Powersellers are actually going to get preferred placement on searches. I'm not saying eBay is for everyone or that these changes are anything to pull out pom poms about, but please tell me HOW WP thinks for one second they're going to compete with eBay? WP was never in the same league with eBay - so what exactly is meant by "the right place at the right time"?


Edited because my fingers were faster than my brain and I wasn't clear about the FVFs. They're lowered for the summer starting June 19th.
