Again I will repeat what I have said so many times. If WP keeps this pace they will be in the right place at the right time.

An an FYI for the Poppers who have abandoned eBay and missed the Live Keynote last night. FVFs for auctions/fixed price will be lowered this summer. A stores tab is forthcoming. Powersellers are actually going to get preferred placement on searches. I'm not saying eBay is for everyone or that these changes are anything to pull out pom poms about, but please tell me HOW WP thinks for one second they're going to compete with eBay? WP was never in the same league with eBay - so what exactly is meant by "the right place at the right time"?

There was another news item yesterday which will affect WP's ability to compete:

Thanks for the link xxx. Well well well, looks like WP isn't the only place for the gossipers to talk about. That's definately good news for us since people will looking for products and our items will be picked up in the searches, feebay won't. LOL. That's what I call sweet!

Wrong! eBay pulled PAID ads - something WP already did, lol. This shouldn't have any impact on organic searches. In fact, the majority of Google traffic I get for eBay and my sites is organic to begin with.

2.2 million monthly visitors to Ubid site (WP has 24,000)
over 4 million registered Ubid members plus 900,000 registered Bidville members (WP has 13,000)

Oh My!!  I just about spit my coffee all over the screen when I read that.  In who's universe does WP's current pace spell any kind of success!!

On the OT, I'm pretty excited.  I just had my two first sales on my new webstore, which has been open for about 10 days!  Tells me I'm doing the right thing - keep 'em coming!

Congrats Shelley,    Speaking of Books...Do any of you have Rob Fitzgerald's Translation of The Odyssey?  I am looking to purchase a used one for my daughters summer reading project.  She has to take notes in the book.  She wants to get started on it right away...lol

edited to add:  I am also looking for that new dog brush call the furminator and some replacement blades at a decent price.  Would rather buy from my TT friends before looking elsewhere.  Thanks

I read about the google/e drama and I thought the same thing right away. It's only a matter of time before the New to WP boards starts going again. We will need a welcoming committee. You guys ready?

I always believe that people have a reason for conducting business the way they do and if I stop and anylize a bit it becomes clearly visible and it makes sense. When things make sense, it's easier to accept even if we disagree. When it comes to eBay I'm totally baffled.
How do you pull the plug on so many people that have become totally dependent on your ways of operation? I just don't get it.
The only time I've seen something similar is when a business wants to shut down and file for bankrupsy. Hmmm, Nah! It can't be.

Yes, WP already missed their boat, Should have done something, maybe listened a bit to "we the people" when you had 900++ stores. Not going to do much with a bit over 200 stores, and many storeowners who actually operate more than 1 store!!

I bolded the famous line above. Of course this person cannot EVER post something without the usual Ebay mention. The friends of Ray need to make sure that the sellers continue to think it is ebay infiltrators blah blah blah!!
