Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Thanks to all for your thoughts on our new grandson. A big welcome to the family to the new TT members. Whoever gets the top of page 1000 should get a lot of karma. ME ME ME!! Mom and baby should come home in the morning.
Carlito riverrat can work wonders for you with a Zen Cart site. She has done one for us and is, I think, working on a second and a third. She is great to work with. We, I and my wife flying high, were big WP cheerleaders for a long time. Platski forced us to look into the light. Truth gave us details. Rat built the Zen sites all the TTers are encouraging. Now we are enjoying having customers sending us money instead of sending money to RAY just to have our WP questions deleted from the boards. A lot of us here were WP sellers at one time. PS come into the light with us. I miss you!! You were my only WP buyer. The baby blanket we got from you is what our grandson is coming home in. We are on different ends of the WP spectrum but that blanket makes us connect forever. User391 I want to move up on the lost karma list. Take your best shot. Back to page 1000 if I get it there will be free brownies for everyone except platski she gets two/three/four out back in the dog house.
Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster.

I am expecting my 4th granddaughter - well my daughter is expecting a girl...but I wanted a grandson! I was going to make him a little tuxedo...! LOL And can someone explain to me (I looked for the answer before I asked) how the Karma thing works? Quote:We, I and my wife flying high, were big WP cheerleaders for a long time. Platski forced us to look into the light. Truth gave us details. I couldn't believe it when I saw you were gone. It was the same time I found out Ray morphed from Karen into Andrew... PS was gone, LBCD was gone...need I say more. All this is what convinced me. Quote:PS come into the light with us. I miss you!! You were my only WP buyer. The baby blanket we got from you is what our grandson is coming home in. We are on different ends of the WP spectrum but that blanket makes us connect forever. This is so sweet!!! Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
217 stores this fine early Saturday morning
My hand is finally feeling good enough today that it almost feels back to normal - a real itchy finger though - but I suppose that means it's healing already - so I'll be off and on the computer today - need to catch up on emails and housework that I've neglected due to my hand being swollen and oh-so tender recently. I'll be peeking in and out and hope everyone has a great weekend! |

Morning all!
Moon - Glad to hear your hand is feeling better No yard sale for me today Weatherman said last night that rain will be moving in today so I will now wait until next weekend. My brother-in-law stopped by this morning and picked up all the construction debris. Now the house looks less like a construction site Plan on doing more house cleaning, maybe some gardening work and I have to go out this morning to do food shopping. Hope everyone is having a terrific start to their weekend. ~Patti~ |
I'll ask forgive me if off topic for my own web site i need 1. a domain name( already own that and it's parked) 2. a host such as tulips tools that i see to my left side of screen that is 3.79 a month 3. do i need a ssl certificate or does tt hosting comes with that? 4. is there any way to design a site on TT with no html, or do i need to learn that before even trying to get the hosting? 5. i have a merchant acc on retail that allows me online transactions, so i could just collect the cc info and process it, or use google or paypal pro. please note that this is more of a learning experience for me, i don't expect huge traffic overnight, so i am willing to go on slow steps. website would have Christian books, bibles, Cd's and DVDs all suggestions are welcome
Hey Carlito! You're already on your way! I'll try to answer some of your questions: 1. A parked domain - Great! All you'll have to do is change your Nameservers once you get signed up for hosting. 2. I highly recommend Tulip Hosting. I've worked with several people setting up their websites and I can attest to their fantastic customer service. 3. If you're going to be collecting credit card info, you definitely need a SSL Certificate. If you sign up with Tulip Hosting you can get one thru them for a very reasonable price. 4. I would recommend letting Tulip install a Zen Cart for you. I love my Zen and it will do anything you need it to do. Once it's set up, it's as easy or easier than listing in an eBay store. There is a learning curve, but there are plenty of us around here who have one and we can help you. 5. If you already have a merchant account, you're one step ahead in the game. The Zen Cart is set up so you can either process cc payments directly thru your merchant account's gateway or it will collect the information for you and you can process it offline. You have an excellent attitude towards setting up a website. It does take a while to build up traffic sometimes, but I know several people here who were making sales on their site within 10 days or less of opening. I hope this info helps and if you have any more questions, just post or drop me a PM! One of us will be able to answer them I'm sure. Good Luck!! You're on the right track!
3. If you're using a merchant account or using google checkout you'll need a dedicated IP address and an SSL. Dedicated IP addresses are an extra $1.75 per month from TH. TH doesn't sell SSLs but you can buy them anywhere to install on a TH server. I recommend ThePlanet.com for very cheap SSLs- RapidSSL is $14.99, GeoTrust $49, GeoTrust premium $94. Google Checkout and ZenCart- the Google Checkout mod for Zen is one of the buggiest pieces of software ever released. I use the Google Checkout mod with Zen but I can't recommend using it due to the bugs (I highly recommend Zen though) 4. Hiring Rat to customize a ZenCart for you is one way to design a ZenCart without HTML, or you could use one of the many free templates that are available for Zen. The no html needed website builder that comes with TH plans isn't really appropriate for ecommerce sites. It's targeted at doctors, lawyers, plumbers, and other B&M businesses that want to build an information site (i.e. no shopping cart), 5. You can use Zen to collect the CC info for manual/offline processing but for security reasons I'd suggest using a merchant account with a gateway that allows the transactions to be processed automatically during checkout because with a gateway the card numbers don't need to be stored in the shopping cart's database.

This has been the dryest Spring, my flowers are all puny this year. Water from the hose is just not the same as a good rain. Knowing my luck it will rain all next weekend for the street sale. : Any good gossip from the WP boards today? |

Hi Scoop! Thanks for the update. I knew it was just a matter of time before something like this happened. It only further proves that Ray would rather fudge on his numbers and loose whatever little potential customers there is just to further line his wallet or purse. (whatever he is using these days)
