WP Members,

Integration of SmartSell Enterprise started early this morning and is nearing completion. We expect full integration in the next several hours prior to 6/1/08 - midnight tonight.

Please expect a few intermittent odd behaviors during the rollout as we retire SmartSell Pro and implement new code for SmartSell Enterprise.

Today's integration will cover mostly background code and peripheral site pages.

Starting at some point just prior to midnight members will migrate automatically (for next billing in June) under SSE, and see the elimination of all Final Value Fees.

Marketshare will take several weeks for rollout as we are still examining the different integration options available to us and weighing them against the needs of the Marketplace while still considering the staffing expenses involved.

Members will notice a beta integration of some new display sets over the same timeframe.

Most importantly is we will be gauging the dimension of the Marketplace under SSE to see how it impacts what we can do moving forward.

I just want to commend Wagglepop for doing such a great job with the integration of the new WP site. There has been VERY little downtime through all this which is great!

Another site that I sell on was doing integration and was down for two 3 day periods... completely down! No one could shop and no one could even get into their accounts.

Even when WP had the surge downtime, it was only 5-6 hours... not days! So I am very glad that I sell on Wagglepop, the site that I can rely on to be up and running when I need it to be.

We have had multiple inquiries in Customer Care about our contact with UBid about the possibility of purchasing Bidville and the costs associated with that. I thought I would share some of the particulars about that for discussion and information.

Quoted purchase price (without relaying the points for negotiation or inclusion/exclusion) was in excess of $500,000, with escalations for transfer support.

As noted above, the price quoted seems more inline with the desire to close Bidville and use that closure as a tax writeoff rather than sell or license it and continue it.

UBid's direction as a parent company is towards the b-to-c and away from c-to-c model and as such we feel their vision is that to allow the ongoing operation of Bidville (by seling it) to be in direct competition with that model.

Umm, they wrote off their investment in Bidville during the first quarter you stupid bullwombat poo pooting boink. Next time you feel the need to spout wombat poo poo you might want to check the company's SEC filings first (or in this case you could have just checked the Ubid forum at TT).  Hope this helps.

Ubid has been strictly B-to-C for years--unless you count the $600K they spent 2 years ago to buy a 1 million name mailing list (i.e. the Bidville acquisition which was done primarily for the mailing list).

I'm shocked that Ray would:
A. consider buying an auction site (especially Bidville): I thought WP was moving completely away from the eBay model and let's not forgot that during WP 1 Ray described Bidville, both the site and its selection of merchandise, as basically crap.  Why would he want to buy crap (especially when he has an abundant supply spewing from his mouth)?
B. {prepare for sarcasm] consider buying a C to C site since Wagglepop "sellers" (term used loosely) are all "professional" "serious" sellers who I assume are all businesses and thus engaged in B-to-C selling not C-to-C.  WP is a B-to-C site isn't it...why would it want to enter the c-to-C market [insert snicker, end sarcasm]?

Exactly, especially when he was singing the blues about not having two nickels to rub against to advertise his own piss-poor excuse for an auction venue and blaming deadbeats for his financial woes.

was a sneaky attempt at a passion play/whine, in the hopes that some independently wealthy or well-connected Pooper could be his benefactor and provide Ray with a fat check. Remember when Ray whined back in the fall of 2006 and almost had a "loyal to the end, red and blue" Pooper writing a free and clear $10,000 check to Ray?
