Well, sorry for your living situation. That really sucks for sure. You just deserve better than WP. You have your own domain, and you even have your own store.
Thanks, LOS. As far as WP, I sell on 12 different sites including my own, and WP has been one of my favorites for more than 2 1/2 years so far. After being picked at for that for the last 2 1/2 years, it would be lovely if other people could simply enjoy their favorite selling methods without feeling the compulsion to stalk me and comment ad nauseum about their misguided interpretations of my opinions of the sites that I choose to use.

Reading public forums isn't stalking. People are entitled to their opinions as much and as often as the community tolerates it. You've rah-rah'd and insulted just about everyone who questions or disagrees with your assessments of WP. So we disagree and insult you right back. The community tolerates it - both ways. Seems fair.
your trailer was sold at auction a few days ago and by your own admission you need to move and haven't ironed out logistics just yet
I was scammed out of my 2,300 sq. ft. home by a horrible mortgage lender who took over the loan last summer when the original lender went belly up. Watch out for karma because you may be next. I will be in much better shape a few months from now. You will have to be you forever.
First PS, my heart goes out to you with the loss of your home. I have been evicted in the past for a Casino expansion (They owned the property) and it royally sucked, but it's not close to what happened to you. I wish you the best in the future with the move, and hope you get settled in quickly. With that said: You and I have known each other since the beginning of WP2, and have dealt with each other favorably. We have exchanged OSCommerce issues, fixes, and info for quite a while since I left WP. When we saw eye to eye about WP, I remember telling you that you were dealing with some very smart folks here and you may want to listen to what they are saying. There is a definite wisdom to what has been said about WP here, and as long as you disagree you will not be seen as a successful business person. My highest month at WP was about $500... it's been so long I can's remember the exact number. Since then, I have moved in different directions a few times, but have never even come close to selling as little as I did on WP. I sell now more than 5 times more monthly, spend 1/2 the time I spent with WP. In fact I usually only have about 2-3 hours a day to do it, when with WP I had about 5 a day. I used to use the WP forum to get sales. Now I use real marketing methods that take about 1/2 the time and produce 5x the results. I am just one of hundreds who moved on and did much better away from WP. If you are doing what you consider to be well there, I just don't see why you wouldn't try to migrate to your site. I also don't see your point of buying through WP Marketshare when you have your own affiliate account. I really am floored that you would sell your own stuff on Amazon through WP Marketshare, pay Amazon's fees, when you could sell it at your website or even WP without a 15% fee. Nothing about that makes a lick of sense. In fact, if I had someone wanting to buy on Amazon, I would only sell them my stuff from Amazon by my own affiliate links so I could get a percent of my fees back. But that's just me. Again, good luck with the move, and send me a PM once you get settled in.

I wish you the best in the future with the move, and hope you get settled in quickly.
Thank you, I appreciate that. And I remember the casino incident. Quote:My highest month at WP was about $500... it's been so long I can's remember the exact number. I used to use the WP forum to get sales. Now I use real marketing methods that take about 1/2 the time and produce 5x the results. My highest months on WP were around $2K each. I still get consistent sales out of WP even though I haven't spent much time at all on that store since 2007. Some of my individual WP sales are $50. - $100.+ profit each. There is no reason whatsoever for me to ever leave that site, and I don't think anyone here is smart for trying to push that idea or for judging me as beneath them because I like a site they've chosen to look down on. I will expand on my own site and others when time allows, but for the next few months it will just be trying to keep up and prepare for an interstate move. Quote:I also don't see your point of buying through WP Marketshare when you have your own affiliate account. We don't get paid commission on our own Amazon purchases through our own affiliate links. Quote:I really am floored that you would sell your own stuff on Amazon through WP Marketshare, pay Amazon's fees, when you could sell it at your website or even WP without a 15% fee. Nothing about that makes a lick of sense. I have been an Amazon seller for a long time. I don't do anything at all to 'sell my own stuff on Amazon through WP Marketshare'. Those items now happen to be searchable through WP Marketshare simply because they already existed on Amazon. Items that are available on my website and/or WP and Amazon are usually priced higher on Amazon to compensate for that difference in fees. So technically, I don't lose anything because of Amazon's high fees, I simply take advantage of their buyer base and traffic as a supplement to what I do on other sites. Quote:In fact, if I had someone wanting to buy on Amazon, I would only sell them my stuff from Amazon by my own affiliate links so I could get a percent of my fees back. But that's just me. Quote:We are tracking some extraordinary sell-through rates relative to new registrants and Marketshare activity has been likewise rather brisk. Extraordinary? 1 seller had a 3% sell-through rate in January, a few were in the 1%-2.5% range and the rest were under 1% http://www.wagglepop.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=8440
Considering Ray's anemic eBay magazine cutout sell-through rate, he probably does consider numbers in the 1-3% range extraordinary. |

xwpopper:
PS is of genius IQ, as she is quick to remind us. In fact, her intelligence level probably exceeds the collective values of all regular posters on this thread, and certainly far and away that of mine -- a person she has identified as not only being an uneducated, delusional psychotic, but a jealous, cyberstalking voyeur suffering from Alzheimers, as well. Should she be the only seller left standing at WP, it will be because she was able to do what those of us idiots and thousands of other sellers who chucked the Koolaid, (some of whom only manage to eek out a 6-figure a year income) were simply unable to do: recognize what a great, selfless humanitarian Ray is in providing the e-commerce world with a brilliantly-conceived, true eBay alternative -- replete with a host of unique and superior features, all aimed at providing a superior buyer experience. And since Ray and his tireless team of engineers are driven by their commitment to WP's sellers' success, they worked beyond limits to secure the "best SEO on the planet," so great, in fact, that searches exceeded the reach of common engines like Google and Yahoo. Mere Earthlings that we are, we were just simply too stupid and impatient to recognize, take advantage, and fully appreciate all WP had to offer. Our loss. :'( :'( :'( |

There is no reason whatsoever for me to ever leave that site, and I don't think anyone here is smart for trying to push that idea or for judging me as beneath them because I like a site they've chosen to look down on. No one here judges you for staying. They question, disagree, and judge your tactics of trying to convince sellers to move to Wagglepop when there are (By Ray's figures) over 3,000 sellers who couldn't figure out how to sell on WP. That is encouraging sellers to go somewhere that has a 98.1% chance of failure... 55 stores remaining on 1/1/09. 3000 stores opened and closed (Ray's figures) means a horrific failure rate for sellers. So bad in fact that to think it was anything but the site and it's administration. Even the monthly high of about 900 stores would make the failure rate 93.9%! What happens in a mall when 25% of the stores fail in 2 years? The manager is fired. This is 98%! That means the mall closes after many managers are fired. Fortunately, Ray collects all the money and does all the work, and owns the site himself. He doesn't have anyone to fire him. Those who didn't pay got banned, and those who didn't want to pay left and still got banned. Quote:We don't get paid commission on our own Amazon purchases through our own affiliate links.I stand corrected. I have spent so little time with it that I thought it was possible. But I would still add individual products that I sold to an a-store and market it as mine, so I could try to earn some of the fees I paid back. Quote:I have been an Amazon seller for a long time... I just get the steady stream of emails that say "Sold, ship now: ......."I'd possibly be better off than where I sell now, but I honestly couldn't handle the volume I'd do part time. My sales would likely be 3 or 4 times more if I put it all on Amazon, but make about half the profit per sale... but it's still more profit! If only I had the time to get all those "Sold, ship now" emails again. Quote:Thanks, and I'll send you a PM down the road. Tell you about how much I love Atomic Mall. LOLOh Lord, here we go... ;D Good luck.

Quote:I thought it was free for 1 year (at least that is what the banner said that I clicked on. But, they charged me this month after no charge for the last 2 months. What she forgot to add was this: Yeah, everyone told me not to go on Wagglepop, but P.S. told me how great it was. I knew opening the store was stupid, so that's why I never spent time listing items. Oh, now I wish I had listened to everyone except P.S., but I'm just so desperate for attention. I wasted so many posters' time and then went and did what they said I shouldn't. Here let me bend over so you can kick me REALLY HARD! Hey, where's the one with the smiley kicking the other smiley in the butt? |

A couple weeks she said AM was the best this, that and the other (posted exact quotes a few posts back) and I noticed a couple weeks ago how much the WP banner has shrunk under the AM banner in her siggy @ PSU...it'll be the size of a period in short order. I envision Ray pulling the plug from the wall and the dot fading away - "forever" - about a year in Ray years. |
