We will start testing at least 5 different scenarios of showing Store inventory listings in search results.

I'm positive they are already PLAYING  around with it which explains alot (like people who have been selling consistently for years suddenly having NO sales...). Marty alluded to eBay controlling what they show about 2 months ago in a stores board post (only one other person asked just exactly what did he mean by that!). When the people who brought you the outhouse door are playing around with the search that effects people's livelihoods it is pretty alarming  . Kim

When I was doing a lot of ebay (OK not a lot never did too much)

I would notice pockets of ebay sales coming from regions.
As if part of the search was turned off for a
certain regions of the country that week for my items.

For instance I would get sales all coming from
the west coast for a week or so.

Then all of a sudden I would get sales all coming from
the east coast the next week or so.

We discussed this in various forums like PSU, FAS (I think)...
and a few others.

Really weird and a lot of folks were experiencing similar sales
by region type scenarios.

It was as if the servers at the bay where directing search calls
to certain regions at certain times in essence shutting off the
rest of the counties ability to search for mine and others items.

Kind of like some sort of inbound "load management" thing or something like that.

Ebay has a number of servers. Perhaps one of them gets catywonkers sometimes and leaves out some results. That would mean no business from the area that server serves if you are left out, or extra business if you are on the top of the heap of what is left.

I have also noticed that regional thing, but this is different. I believe it is by format (Hairless more or less admitted it). I did not sell anything for 2 weeks and then on June 1st I got several sales. I guess it was my turn  :-\ . Funny, I thought I paid my fees to get the WHOLE month  .

The great news is that I got my first add-on from my web site from the forced Shoppal checkout redirect from my eBay auctions (on a new i.d with no connection to my eBay store). A $10 auction sale turned into an extra $45 sale with NO eBay fees  Plus now I know it works. Shoppal has been a very good choice. Kim

I think that has to do with the fact that many people get paid the first of the month and mid month. Also Social Security checks come out or are deposited into people's accounts the first of the month.

Hi Mary - I think you are correct on the money issue--especially with gas prices almost $3.50/gallon here. I've had many more SLOW payers recently.

I still think that eBay is manipulating the searches differently than advertised though. Kim
