***Answer Buyer Questions with Custom FAQs*** 

Hi, I'm Christophe Gillet with eBay Product Management. I'm here to let you know about a new feature that should cut down on the amount of time sellers spend answering common questions from their buyers. Soon you'll be able to create a custom FAQ that will be shown to your prospective buyers before they send you an email.

In the next few days, you'll be able to choose to display custom Frequently Asked Questions, as well as other important information, to your buyers when they click on "Ask Seller a Question" from any of your item pages. You can opt to show any or all of the following:

    * Up to 15 Frequently Asked Questions that you’ve created. For example, use them to answer questions such as "Do you take PayPal?" or "Will you combine shipping if I buy multiple items?"
    * Any Item Specifics you used when listing the item. We'll essentially show the same Item Specifics section seen on your listing on the Ask Seller a Question page.
    * Any questions (and answers) that you've already posted on your listing.

To customize your Ask Seller a Question page, go to your Preferences in My eBay. In the Selling Preferences section, click on "Show" next to "Ask Seller a Question". From there, click simply click "Edit" and begin customizing.

If the buyer didn't read the shipping rates/payment methods on the actual listing how likely is it they'll read them on the FAQ?  Will sellers be allowed to put pictures on the FAQ to help those eBay buyers who are unable to comprehend simple sentences like "shipping is $4.05 to US addresses", "we do not accept checks or money orders"?

That was my thought.  99.99% of my ASQs are asking questions for which the answer is already clearly stated in the listing.  Usually several times.  If they don't read it there, they aren't going to read it in the FAQ.

From the eBay boards:

BUT, I JUST SPENT 1 HOUR creating questions and answers. AND then I hit SUBMIT ~~~~ POOF ~~~~ gone. The dreaded Page Not Responding error.

At least eBay is consistent in their incompetence.
