Does the Google Sandbox exist? I often speak of the Sandbox Effect, rather than of the Sandbox. Technically, I'm on the side of Mike Grehan and Shari Thurow. I don't believe that Google intentionally sandboxes all new Web sites...

I think the sandbox is pure BS, based on my experience of setting up a brand new site with a brand-new never registered before domain.

It took what was it, 6 or 7 days? to get my thomasandfriends.info site crawled with 30+ pages indexed on Google. That's from domain registration, setting up the site and adding content. A week later it was indexed. It was up and running right before a PR update too; so it had a PR1 within 3 weeks.

I believe 70% of SEO terms are BS fabricated by SEO professionals in order to intentionally confuse non-technical users so they'll feel compelled to hire a SEO Pro. Smile

I think it's pure BS too. We registered the domain name for our latest site on the 15th.Â It's already indexed in Yahoo and Google -25 pages.Â We didn't submit it to any search engines but we did link to it from a few of our sites with PR's ranging from 4 to 7.

P.S. I also think the entire search engine submission industry is BS. We haven't submitted a site to any search engine since early 1998 but they always find the sites within a matter of days anyways.
