eBay employee Rogelio Choy calls Google's GBuy EVIL and then WIMPS OUT!!!
eBay employee trashing GBuy (Google Checkout) in his blog - including calling it more evil than Greenzap : and then the wimp deleted his blog post.
An eBay employee speaks: Quote:I find it amusing how the general media is claiming GBuy will be a significant competitor to Paypal based on GBuy having near zero buyers actually using the service vs over 100MM using Paypal [<--someone please tell this dimwit that GBuy has near 0 buyers because it opened its doors yesterday]. Let's recall something here folks. In its current form, GBuy is a glorified merchant account... Quote:Without that community base, GBuy is simply Greenzap with a 'better' (more evil?) seller proposition... The full post preserved on another blog: http://www.powersellerking.com/2006/06/e...vs_pa.html |

What a lot of mis-information he's got in there!
Quote:over 100MM using Paypal That's the total accounts, the number of ACTIVE Users is quite a bit smaller. Quote:By making GBuy free based on Adwords usage Again, not necessarily correct - you get free processing up to 10X your Adwords cost for the previous month, and the credits arent' accumulating - if you don't use them the next month, you lose them. Not surprised he pulled that down like he did - but he forgot Google sees all ;D |

That's not even the total accounts PP has.
It is just the total number of different people (supposedly) whether a registered user or not, that sent or received at least one payment through the PayPal system during the quarter. One of the PP shills actually brought that up a couple of months ago on ebay's boards when being taunted about the active registered PP / users numbers being so low and pulled the statement right out of the SEC filing for all to see. To their shame they didn't realize they just helped an anti PROVE their point that the numbers being reported are indeed erroneous. :

Quote:That's the total accounts, the number of ACTIVE Users is quite a bit smaller. 105M registered, 29M active according to eBay's Q1 report. Quote:I find it amusing how the general media is claiming GBuy will be a significant competitor to Paypal It won't be a PayPal Killer because it won't affect PayPal's core eBay payments and person-to-person payments businesses. It will be a PayPal Growth Stunter because it's directly competing with PayPal for customers in the area PayPal is looking to for future growth--off-ebay website owners and their buyers. |

I would only add that if PP's numbers keep going south it is going to seriously hurt ebay's revenue streams. Makes me happy Oh that stuff about whether a registered user or not was in the SEC filing I do believe. ebay count's it's users differently than it counts PP's. I seem to remember reading the post that the PP shill brought up. They even told us all what page to go look on the SEC report for the passage about how PP counts and defines a user. Maybe I will go see if I can find it but I do remember reading it and I was shocked at how they could do that and report anyone as a "registered" user whether a registered user or not. I could be mistaken so now I HAVE to go find out. LOL

Sunnuvab!tch! How about that. If you've even touched PP, you get marked as a user.
I wonder if we all have marks on our foreheads. LOL. Betcha ten bucks his eBay bossman told him to pull the blog post.

Exactly how does one Pink slap another? eBay employee, Rogelio Choy, may soon be asking "Want fries with that?" at his new place of employment.
