We're only concerned about whether or not T&A actually want anyone to spam the ebay boards about their hosting company,

Promoting and spamming are quite often considered the same thing, depending on who you're talking to.

Re: STORE OWNERS BOYCOTT EBAY IN PROTEST
I  am just another fed up Ebay seller and Basic Store Owner. I came across this cartoon on my alternative site search. How appropriate! It probably originated a long time ago since it is missing one of the top boobs. But, still hits the spot now!

http://www.ioffer.com/feepay/

Ever since the two tyrannical control psychotics EMeg and ECobb became the CEO's, Ebay has gone downhill. It is no longer a community.

They ruined the originating values of EBay: We believe people are basically good.
We believe everyone has something to contribute.
We believe that an honest, open environment can bring out the best in people.
We recognize and respect everyone as a unique individual.
We encourage you to treat others the way you want to be treated.

So much for that statement!

The 'uprising' in the iOffer cartoon is based on the Summer of 1999 protests when eBay attempted to impose a $1 fee for reserve  auctions and Pierre Omidyar made the huge mistake of saying "It's only a $1".  EBay quickly backed down and removed the $1 charge after a few days.
