Re: eBay Screws with its Search Engine at the start of the Holiday Selling Seaso
WTF? Wha'd they do, put rocket fuel in the frickin' clown car over there??

You're right, stardust, they always pull some stupid crap in October - at the onset of the annual sales season. It's usually the site layout, search or something that makes buyers uncomfortable.

"Best Match" and buyer relevence? Ignoring proven sales techniques is frickin' brilliant. If a store were set up with the customer in mind, the frickin' milk would be next to the cash register. But it's not. They sell more by walking people through the store and catching those impulse sales.

eBay just gave themselves a raise. According to the lousy results rob gets for his African Violets, making the inventory more difficult to find means increased a lot of sellers will incur additional listing costs to move inventory. Sort of like when canned food companies increased costs. They decreased weight from an average of 16 oz to 14 oz and left the price the same.

I have to deal w/ eBay for the season. But today started off well. I opened my e-mail and found my first eCrater sale... Headbang

The African Violet thing is absolutely amazing. Just amazing.

My fear is that this "Optional" search function will become a default and folks will have to change their preferences to get rid of it...and we all know how many people would know how to do that now don't we?

Read this August announcement.  It looks like there are more holiday season changes planned for search besides just 'best match'

Maybe with all the manipulation going on, someone over diluted the  Smileykoolaid?
