Single digit IQ numbers are required as well. [/quote] You would think so, simply by observing the dismal results and dramatic downfall. However, I honestly believe that they have some bright people working there. Unfortunately, I think that their structure is from the top down, and that it's run very poorly. Ebay outgrew Meg a few years ago. They should have replaced her but the Board of Directors and the Stockholders have been snowed. It's truly a mess, and they should be embarrassed. Greed and arrogance was their downfall. |

Re: eBay Screws with its Search Engine at the start of the Holiday Selling Season
Well If there are no "Smaller eBay retailers" left
(which seems to be what they want anyway) then sure... those larger sellers operating on penny profit margins will get the buyers. Problem is for them where will they get those buyers to begin with, as people keep choosing NOT to buy on the site? Not to mention those larger ones do seem to be falling by the wayside too as the fees eat up thier profits and thier businesses go in the red. All these panicked and STUPID moves "enhancements" have done nothing to restore the "magic" of ebay. eBay is it's own worst competitor... The sad part about that is every time they screw up, it hurts thier core sellers too. (The one's who are left that is) :

Re: eBay Screws with its Search Engine at the start of the Holiday Selling Season
There's plenty of magic left on ebay. The other day, I wanted to purchase something. I roamed around ebay until I found a store seller with a decent feedback rating. I checked the ME page and saw the link to the off-ebay website. I clicked. I bought. Felt pretty magical to me.

Re: eBay Screws with its Search Engine at the start of the Holiday Selling Season
I don't buy on eBay anymore either, but I ALWAYS get a kick out of finding something I'm intersted in and buying it from the seller's website also.
eBay trolls read TT, so you know it is just a matter of time before links to seller's websites and direct communication will no longer be available under ANY circumstances. Not only is eBay and their croonies unethical, they aren't happy with a slice of the pie. The greedy bastages have to have it all or nothing. In the end, eBay will end up with nothing. eBay is mucking up so much, they will have only themselves to blame for their downfall. |

Re: eBay Screws with its Search Engine at the start of the Holiday Selling Seaso
Yep.
I will have absolutely no reason to list any product there if they take away the ME page or make any further restrictive policies on our listing pages. Seeing as the Feds apparently don't care about eBay violating the "sprit" of free trade laws on the books, it is entirely up to us to do something about it... and many of us have. Sellers and buyers alike are simply NOT doing much of eBay anymore and the active user numbers do reflect that fact. I've said it before and I'll say it again. They ARE quite aware that the traffic is in the dump and is why they continue to scramble around trying to figure out how to get that "magic" back. Simply raising the fees is NOT working anymore as they have essentially priced themselves out of the market for the majority of sellers. It's simply NOT profitable nor logical to pay eBay more than you are making just to list on a screwed up dying site. I'm sorry to say this but only a FOOL will continue to list list list on eBay in hopes that some how... the general population will see the error of thier ways and return to buy on eBay. I just don't see it happening. The snake is dead but the body is still wiggling around uncontrollably on the ground. It too will stop wiggling and for those who sit back and just watch and wait. Well nuff said............ Oh and I wont BUY on eBay either anymore. Sorry hold outs.. I look at you as scabs anymore that have crossed the virtual picket line. No offense meant personally to anyone. It's just how I feel.

Re: eBay Screws with its Search Engine at the start of the Holiday Selling Season
Too bad you feel that way XXP. I won't buy on ebay, but I'll sure support anyone who is trying to move away from it (whenever I can). I would hope that others would do the same for me.
