Hmmm, I don't think it's google that is pushing out the video rental business. Who wants to go rent videos, when iTunes, movies on demand on digital cable, and netflix all offer more convenient services (and cheaper, no late fees, etc). I think google is the least of her business's worries.
I can't remember the last time I ever rented a movie. We have digital cable with a movies on demand component - about 400 movies that we can "rent" for a day for about $1.99 each |

Amazon and CinemaNow sell downloadable burn-to-DVD videos for less than $15. CinemaNow and Amazon have downloadable video rentals for $1.99-$3.99. In a few years brick and mortar video rental stores won't exist.
