Re: Why You Feel eBay Is UNETHICAL
To me, allowing just any potential competitor to look into your personal sales history to see how you're doing with your unique products in connection with your own marketing strategies, is highly unethical.

Re: Why You Feel eBay Is UNETHICAL
Quote:Meanwhile, ebay's favored seller, the_sharper_image had links right to their web site on every auction. Restaurant.com did too. There was a thread on the Stores board 2 years ago where someone complained about a small seller who had off-eBay links on their store home page. eBay's Nalani (now Carole) said she would personally see that the links were removed. We mentioned that Restaurant.com also had links on their store home page, and that their links took buyers directly to an off-ebay membership order form (i.e. fee avoidance in addition to the link violation). Nalani's response: a series of "um, um, ums, have you tried the web forms?, um, um" and no action was taken against the large seller. There was also Pompous Jay and his keyword spamming which was a big issue on the stores board and was brought up at a few Brown Bag Lunches. eBay didn't pull any listings but they did take him out to lunch to discuss the issue. : eBay's alleged level playing field in the enforcement of policies >> |

Re: Why You Feel eBay Is UNETHICAL
Asking for checking account information for "verficiation" - then charging it for listing fees without your authorization.
