Thanks Cranky,
I love your name. Everytime I see your posts I smile. Just one more month on Ebay, and my store will be no more. 8) |

Quote:However, the most advanced retailers will ultimately go much further. They will use the proprietary insights they acquire to create personalized shopping experiences that are tailored to the preferences of their customers as those preferences change in the course of a particular shopping mission or from one shopping mission to another. Amazon is one of the best examples.

Ok this is totally OT but I am so excited so wanted to share this with my TT pals. I got my first sale from my ecrater store today. I had to read the email twice to believe it. [/quote]

Quote:Amazon is one of the best examples. I couldn't agree more. I have been shopping on Amazon almost from the time they started. I cannot see Ebay even remotely being able to operate their site anywhere close to Amazon. The sellers have long long memories, and the current fiasco that Ebay has morphed into will not soon be forgotten. > |

Re: WTF is TSE (Tailored Shopping Experience)?
"Share of wallet" is one of those marketing weasel terms, like "top of mind" which they are so fond of.
Okay, this is fairly funny ...... I just went to this trendwatching report page I have bookmarked, and entered the term "share of wallet" into their search engine, thinking that if this was a popular marketing term, they might be using it in their reports. Nothing shows up in their reports, but the page shows sponsored links and one of them says: Share of Wallet www.ebay.com. Great deals on SHARES OF WALLET Shop on eBay and save! Sick. |

Re: WTF is TSE (Tailored Shopping Experience)?
When I came in yesterday evening and read what Abby had written it really pissed me off.
Not at Abby, but I think this was the best comprehensive post / look at what ebay's plans have been all along. You know back when most of us were enjoying great sales at ebay that started to decline I know many of us may have felt like we were starting over many times thinking we were doing something wrong. I imagine many were second guessing their ad copy, pics prices etc. All this time it was NOT us. It was eBay and the way they have been manipulating thier system to attempt to achieve thier goals and now we know exactly what that goal is. Micro managed for the benefit of only eBay's new fat pig... the SOW. What a crock of shit that has strengthened my three year resolve to see to it that this site called eBay indeed collapses. I said this a million times before but man, am I ever glad I never trusted these LSOB's from day one and I'm so happy to have seen the hand writing on the wall so long ago. Even if trying to figure out where they were headed was a bit cloudy at times to me. Hey maybe we should all go out to the discount stores buy cheap 1.00 wallets BRAND them SOW's and sell them on feeBay for .99 cent and 6.95 S&H. You know once the few buyers left see SOW in the listing pages (if search is working that day) they will buy because of the trendy Buzz of the NEW SOW name that we create. Who knows we may even see the return of bidding wars as the few buyers just have to have a SOW. I mean everybody wants one and it's DA bomb. ;D

Re: WTF is TSE (Tailored Shopping Experience)?
OMG as I was typing one of you had already done it.
When I get a chance I'm going to start selling SOW wallets too. But will be sure to keep my eBay monthly fees at 3.00 a month while doing so.

Re: WTF is TSE (Tailored Shopping Experience)?
Oh as an incentive maybe the demo pic in the SOW wallets
should be a pic of Meggy poo and perhaps a Waggle Buck for good luck. All this for the LOW LOW AMAZING price of just .99 I can see the marketing copy now. Wow what a SOW... :blinkie: Got SOW? How Now Brown SOW. Even a SOW folk song. How many SOW's must the world have to buy now before we can plow down the SOW and yes and how many Sows ..... The answer my pal is buying that old SOW, the answer is buying that old SOW. Everybody sing alone. OK more coffee?
