eBay Testing 'Map It' Local Search Feature
Quote:eBay's new Map It prototype is part of the company's continuing efforts to "go local." With the new Map It feature, shoppers who search for items by zip code within a specific radius will see a map indicating where matching items are located. full article: http://auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y06/m10/i23/s02 The eBay Map It prototype: http://mapit.ebay.com/home |

Re: eBay Testing 'Map It' Local Search Feature
Not a bad idea. I wonder how they'll screw it up.

Re: eBay Testing 'Map It' Local Search Feature
I just tried it for my area with searches for 2 items that I have listed on eBay and nothing shows up in search.

Re: eBay Testing 'Map It' Local Search Feature
Goggle Base already has a feature called map it
that has been on GB for quite some time. (I think that's the name) The GB version actually shows you a map with were the item is located like Map Quest would do if you typed in an address. I haven't bothered to look at the lastest and greatest ebay feature, so I don't know if it is just another clone or stolen idea or what. Hey didn't ebay already have a way to search for sellers by location / region? Oh well no since in NOT cluttering up the pages with even more useless junk. Guess it makes the place look really busy. :

Not a bad idea. I wonder how they'll screw it up. [/quote] I wonder if they'll charge an enhancement fee to be included. :blinkie:
