As mentioned previously, in December, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer David Hume Kennerly will begin his journey to document the people who live in these most active eBay communities.

Kennerly is a great photographer. I'm surprised he would take this on.

Aside from that, what a phony bunch of hocus-pocus carp, designed to distract from the real problems on ebay.

yeah, like the number of people who donate through eBay is representative of everyone who donates, everywhere.


This has to be the stupidest, weirdest, and most ill-weighted promotion yet.

After the promotion ends on November 21, the local community with the most points will be named the #1 eBay Community in America for 2006. They will also receive a $10,000 donation from eBay, Inc. to the approved charity of their choice – PLUS eBay will host a big party in their town to celebrate.

OK--so, assuming the promotion is actually something your community WANTS to win, I would daresay really LARGE communities would be more likely to win than small ones. Even if only 10% of Manhattan uses eBay and 90% of Grants, New Mexico uses it (population 8,000)--well, you get the idea.
