Meg Whitman Wants You to Price Your Items Below Wholesale
Interview with eBay's Meg Whitman...
Quote:WHITMAN: There is the law of unintended consequences. We degraded the buyer experience in a way that we did not anticipate. It took us a few months to diagnose the problem, determine what the right fix was and to put the fix into place. full article: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg...MEPAG1.DTL&type=business |

Re: Meg Whitman Wants You to Price Your Items Below Wholesale
Geez, both our customers and us were quite happy when our store listings were included in the search results. Buyers told us that they were happy to find a competitive price without needing to play silly bidding games (since we sell stocked merchandise). Since eBay has "rebalanced the marketplace, our eBay visits and sales are both down....but our website sales are up.
Guess eBay fails to grasp the concept of the immediacy and reassurance of non-bid sales. While eBay continues to further rebalance the marketplace, the buyers and sellers continue to move on. Soon, eBay will be an empty bazaar with nothing but scoundrels trying to cheat each other. Bob |
