Google Base expected to become force to be reckoned with in 2007
Quote:I predict that Google Base refinement options on Google will be rolled out over the next 2 months. Yes, weve been waiting for this to happen for a while and there were signs that the implementation would take place last quarter. I dont know whats causing the delay, but if I were Google, I wouldnt have made any major changes during the holiday season so it just makes sense that changes will start to show up now. Also, Google has been much better about kicking out eBay affiliates which were spamming Base and shutting down duplicate accounts (to the dismay of many many etailers - especially b/c both accounts are basically de-activated at once). full article: http://www.comparisonengines.com/2007/01...f-q1-2007/ |

Google Base announces plans to make Base better for searchers
A related blog post from Google Base's Associate Product Manager:
Quote:Last year saw a number of improvements to Google Base, and we have ambitious plans to make Base even better for providers and searchers in 2007 -- plans like this: http://googlebase.blogspot.com/2007/01/b...-2007.html |

Re: Google Base expected to become force to be reckoned with in 2007
----Wish I could agree... but the vast majority (90% or more) of our customers whom I refer Google Base (Froogle) to have never heard of it. If they put the link more prominently on the Google search page (instead of having to click on the "more" link), perhaps that would change. *duh* |

My Google Base items are still getting really skimpy hits and clicks, compared to the time before they integrated Froogle & Base, or whatever they did.

[/quote] ;D Google is WELL-KNOWN for rolling out products waaaaayyyy too early... and then keeping them in beta for an eternity. Maybe they got some of their techies from ebay? |
