Slow loading auction image sizing question
*poof* and *poof*
Cottonwoods and Farm Would a few of you'all paste the above auctions into the ebay search engine and tell me how fast the pix come up? -- including 'click to enlarge' on the farm listing? I have a sneaky suspicion that my new web host is slower than snails.... Both of these are completely different in the way the pix are handled/displayed. Need some feedback, plz. Edited out the listing numbers....... |

RE: Slow loading auction image sizing question
The first loaded instantly (I am on a high speed wifi connection right now) but the second was noticably slower - the pics filled in from top to bottom.

RE: Slow loading auction image sizing question
I'm on 5mbs cable and it loaded slow. Dialup users probably aren't going to wait for the page to load because the load times are 2-4 minutes.

RE: Slow loading auction image sizing question
Okay, you did the first one, which should be relatively fast. I've NEVER before been accused of having slow-loading listings -- no matter WHAT size pix I had.
I noticed the slowness when working on listings in TL -- really slow to come in for the first time, and I'm on 1.5 dsl. Never has been that way before when I was with ipowerweb. And I tested with a number of friends on dialup...always 30 seconds or less, with lotsa pix. So before I consider changing anything on MY part, I think it'd be more exciting to blame my new host and possibly his clogged up server.... > |

RE: Slow loading auction image sizing question
Okay, I've discovered that my new irfanview download has some new *add-ons* that I am not familiar with -- did not really check them out -- and the *save* button is actually doubling or quadrupling the file size of anything saved. Oboy... > Lotsa work redoing ALL pix taken/sized in the last 6 months. Well, listings are first. Already done them once (I thought) but now have to do them again!!

RE: Slow loading auction image sizing question
Stardust, can't you just re-size (i.e. reduce the dpi) on the ones you have? Adobe has a bulk operation for that for instance.
