The database on PH is not that large.  Fellow RScript user Wagglepop's database is even larger and they have no problems running their site on a P4 at Ezzi...if you want to see a large database (4GB) go look at our GoSearchFor directory with its 4.7 million listings and 750,000 categories (which by the way, we moved to a new server in under an hour in March).

a. Do you think he would have told his users about iWeb if he hadn't been busted tonight?  As recently as Friday he was still pretending the site was moving to Rackspace.

If he had followed our 3-step guide to server moves he wouldn't need to reset permissions on the new server - the old permissions would transfer over when he untarred the site backup file on the new server. :imptongue:

The 500 error could also be a result of the fool FTPing files in binary mode instead of ascii..

The source of the problem could easily be discovered by looking at the site's error logs.

They upgraded Apache this morning from 1.3.x to 2.0.x but it still didn't fix the problem.  Why the idiots chose to upgrade to 2.0.x instead of the newer 2.2.x version that their old site on AQ Ray's server was using is a mystery.

EDIT: They also switched IPs this morning from 67.205.96.153 to 67.205.96.151.

Since Plunderhere is down and shows no signs of returning anytime soon, I thought I'd veer off topic and followup on Regi's statements about why CPanel sucks.

This blog writer states several of the reasons:

reason #1, it screws up your server's configuration:
