Re: PlunderHere and AlsoShop: A Web of Privacy Violations, Backstabbing, and Deceit
Move over Milbid, I think Plunderhere.eu has just taken away your crown for lowest all-time sell through rate.
The dates of the last 3 sales on PH.eu: May 1st, 2008 April 3, 2008 March 29th, 2008 The March 29th sale was a Rolex replica (i.e. counterfeit/knockoff) which sold for GBP 59.95 (approximately $120). The seller was located in Malaysia and has been a member since July 2006. Its great that Mark allows a. counterfeits and b. deceptive selling practices--the listing title was "Rolex Colamariner - Super Rare!". Buyers had to read the description to find out it was a fake/knockoff/counterfeit. Mark's located in Malaysia isn't he and he said he purchased Bidz around July 2006 didn't he--what a coincidence. http://www.plunderhere.eu/auction_detail..._id=133443 The dirtbag piece of sh.it has another counterfeit Rolex up for sale: http://www.plunderhere.eu/auction_detail...Super-Rare&auction_id=133782 DISCLAIMER: I friggin' hate POS who sell counterfeits/knockoffs/"replicas" (although I''m sure Rolex hates them even more). EDIT: does anyone else see a problem with the fact that sellers (whose initials are probably MT) are allowed to sell counterfeits on Plunderhere but Mark has banned users for asking simple business questions in the site's forum (which he labels as "negativity")? EDIT: Another friggin' coincidence. The Malaysian counterfeit seller's location is given as 87018 and 87018 just happens to be the postal code for Labuan where Mark is located. |

Re: PlunderHere and AlsoShop: A Web of Privacy Violations, Backstabbing, and Deceit
The good news: the site is back after 72 hours of downtime and on the new server.
The bad news: the site still doesn't have any buyers (seller to seller sales excepted) and it's still owned by Mark the Boinkup. Plunderhere Sitewide 30 Day Sales Wrote:Total items Sold in last 30 Days: 1,008 For a gross amount of: $2,757.84 The site was down for 6 of those 30 days but still... EDIT: Bad News: based on the site's current sales figures, the average storeowner grossed $5.98 (20 cents daily) during the past 30 days. Good news: the average storeowner only lost 60 cents in gross revenues as a result of the 3-day outage. |

Auction Site PlunderHere HACKED!
Mark said on PSU the site hadn't suffered any security breaches.
BULLSH.IT. Plunderhere was hacked. Click on the "member recipes" link at the bottom of the "30 days sales page" (http://www.plunderhere.com/newsletter/sold.php) and you'll be greeted with this message: Quote: ...::: HacKed By_cRew :::... |

Re: PlunderHere and AlsoShop: A Web of Privacy Violations, Backstabbing, and Deceit
The hackers were nice enough to add a javascript redirect on the
Code: http://www.plunderhere.com/recipes page which takes anyone who clicks on the "members recipes" link to the hacker's site. |

[/quote] Oh my, I hope the hacker took the added precautions and upgraded his hosting account. Think of the flood of traffic he will get. Let the Truth be Told |

Re: PlunderHere and AlsoShop: A Web of Privacy Violations, Backstabbing, and Deceit
If a site owner is too stupid to notice an obvious hack like a defaced page he's not going to know when hacks which aren't obvious occur like a hacker using a vulnerability to gain root access and steal member data, a hacker turning the server into a zombie on a botnet, etc.

Re: PlunderHere and AlsoShop: A Web of Privacy Violations, Backstabbing, and Deceit
According to a post on TCH Mark was informed of the hacking 2 weeks ago and chose to ignore it.
Quote:If I remember right, this was reported on the PH forums around two weeks ago. It was a short post/thread that probably disappeared into the night with some of the others.http://thecrabbyhost.com/index.php?topic...77#msg7477 Also, PH members are being forced to login and register on unsecure pages because there isn't a working SSL certificate on the new server yet. |
