Weblog Usability: The Top Ten Design Mistakes
Quote:Weblogs are often too internally focused and ignore key usability issues, making it hard for new readers to understand the site and trust the author.

Usability Issues
To reach new readers and respect your existing readers' time constraints, test your weblog against the following usability problems

1. No Author Biographies
2. No Author Photo
3. Nondescript Posting Titles
4. Links Don't Say Where They Go
5. Classic Hits are Buried
6. The Calendar is the Only Navigation
7. Irregular Publishing Frequency
8. Mixing Topics
9. Forgetting That You Write for Your Future Boss
10. Having a Domain Name Owned by a Weblog Service

2. No Author Photo

I wish half the people with blogs didn't subject their readers to their photos.  Laughing7

10. Having a Domain Name Owned by a Weblog Service

How much does a cheap web host cost? $10???  I giggle when I see all the self described tech and SEO experts on blogger.

Get rid of the author photo and this is a good list.

In  most cases I'd probably say Noooooooooo  Pleeeeeeeeeeze No Nekkid Picture!!!!!!  :twistedevil:
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011
