eBay Seller Suspensions: Neutrals are now Negatives
From ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo's blog:
Quote:First, I want to make sure everyone reading understands that I, like everyone in the eBay ecosystem, wants a clean, well-lit marketplace and I agree with eBay's recent take that the bottom performing sellers should be managed up or out. It's also about time something was done here. However, it's easy to get on this "kick sellers out" bandwagon and forget that every GOOD/GREAT transaction on eBay comes from... you guessed it a seller. As a marketplace manager, it's eBay's job to have clear, easy to understand policies and then enforce/reward them. full article: http://ebaystrategies.blogs.com/ebay_str...re-no.html more from Randy Smythe: Quote:What really gets me, is the idea that neutrals are now included in the calculation. I'm sure eBay looked at the numbers the first time, going by negatives alone and realized it wouldn't affect enough sellers, so to reach their restriction quota they extended the net to include neutrals. Including neutrals is just plain wrong in my opinion. Customers leave neutrals for any number of reasons that have nothing to do with bad customer service, as Scot points out in his post... full article: http://rksmythe.blogspot.com/2007/08/goo...t-net.html |

Re: eBay Seller Suspensions: Neutrals are now Negatives
This seems to be a really short-sighted and poorly thought out policy, primarily because it will affect mostly the large sellers, and not necessarily bad sellers.
Why is it that ebay rarely, if ever, gets anything really right? |

Quote:good stuff A++ however, company does not leave feedback for the ebayer I received several "she didn't leave feedback fast enough" neutrals and negatives. : Counting neutrals as negatives would have lowered my feedback percentage from 99.6% to 98.5% |

Re: eBay Seller Suspensions: Neutrals are now Negatives
This seller apparently isn't in the bottom 1% according to eBay's formula
90.4% feedback percentage 26,604 negatives -------------------------- item as described 4.3 communication 4.0 shipping time 4.1 shipping and handling charges 3.8 --------------------------- last 6 months: positive: 194,804 neutral 6,635 negative 5,637 ---------------------------- Based on eBay's (neutral + negative) formula the seller's feedback percentage over the past 6 months is 94.1%. The insertion fees from 4800 current listings and the FVF fees from 25,000 monthly sales apparently negate the negatives and neutrals. |

I received several "she didn't leave feedback fast enough" neutrals and negatives. : [/quote] That's it, blame your 125 negatives on the buyers. : I'm sure none of the negatives were due to YOU SUCKING AS A SELLER!: arcasm1: :twistedevil: :twistedevil::twistedevil: Quote:This seller apparently isn't in the bottom 1% according to eBay's formula That seller is a disgrace.

Re: eBay Seller Suspensions: Neutrals are now Negatives
Quote:What really gets me, is the idea that neutrals are now included in the calculation. "   ", said the Amazon seller. Amazon includes neutrals (3 star ratings) in the calculation so it's possible on Amazon to have 0 negatives (1 or 2 star ratings) and yet have a feedback percentage below 100%. Quote:Customers leave neutrals for any number of reasons that have nothing to do with bad customer service Customers also leave negatives for reasons that have nothing to do with bad customer service. All of the negatives on our main ID are retaliatory negatives left by non paying bidders. The negative on our other ID was left by a customer who had trouble paying by PayPal (PayPal had technical problems one day and we received a negative because of their problems : ) |

Re: eBay Seller Suspensions: Neutrals are now Negatives
Some sellers, Lee the creep comes to mind, are working hard to change those neutrals in to "mutually withdrawns" in order to avoid the ax. :

Quote:Some sellers, Lee the creep comes to mind, are working hard to change those neutrals in to "mutually withdrawns" in order to avoid the ax. eBay needs to do something about people abusing the mutual withdrawal system...a certain seller with 3100 mutual withdrawals comes to mind as one person who has really abused the system.. Quote:90.4% feedback percentage Congratulations on the improvement from 88.9% to 90.4% over the past year B-land! arcasm1:
