Hold regular virtual meetings
Even though you are somewhere else, these days it's very easy to hold a remote meeting. You can do a conference call with staff - which is free on Skype. Hold a weekly virtual meeting to debrief on what's been achieved the week before and plan for the week ahead. Depending on the experience and initiative of your staff, you may then need to document this and ask for daily updates...
