Google: faster indexing leads to artificially inflated rankings
Quote:Google has been indexing pages faster in what looks like an attempt to provide some semblance of real time search queries on particular topics, and while this has become more than evident today, its also raising some serious questions on Googles prized search algorithm. In indexing pages in a faster manner, they are shown in search results minutes after theyre published, but this leaves a weakness for Page Rank, because there are little or no backlinks for Google to reference. full article: http://mashable.com/2008/01/01/google-pa...h-results/ |

If I wanted to ask Wiki then I would have asked wiki..... :turkey2: Bet when Wikipedia starts to cut into Google's search business those wiki pages will somehow not rank so high.

Re: Google: faster indexing leads to artificially inflated rankings
They are indexing much faster than a year ago, I noticed.
Quote:What the flaw allows for is an outpouring of spam results appearing at the top of a query You can friggin' say that again! |
