November 01, 2005 | 11:35AM PST/PT
Some members may currently be experiencing issues when using features provided by Andale, a third-party service provider, such as Andale checkout. We are working with Andale, and hope to help them resolve the issues soon.
We encourage you to be patient with members using these services, and to keep communicating with your trading partners should they be affected.
Update: Andale has posted a message on their site with more information about these issues, which you can read by clicking here.

Andale
BYTES
IMO
I have not been able to log in and see my feebay stats for over two months.
(I dont use them anymore because of it).
Probably because THEY have all those third party cookies and JAVA junk BLOCKED in my browser.
Interesting that eBay is taking the rare step of issuing an official system announcement concerning a 3rd party outage. Also interesting is this statement by Andale:
Quote:Our Operations team traced the issue to a bug in the vendor software that we utilize for our database.
The database software they're using is Oracle. A major bug was recently discovered in Oracle's database software...I wonder if the nature of that recently discovered bug is why eBay is issuing an announcement.

Are you two trying to say they were hacked?
Just before noon on Friday Andale paid mouthpiece Crystal appeared on the Andale message boards to say:
Quote:Hello All,
We're going to take a short maintenance to push fixes they've been working on today. These short outages will help us bring our website back to full functionality after the issues we experienced over the weekend.
We'll have an update posted shortly after return.
12 hours later the site is still down, and this message is on their home page:
Quote: Andale Maintenance
The Andale website is currently under maintenance. Earlier today, we were pushing a fix that would have fixed some of the outstanding checkout and lister issues. We did not anticipate this would bring the site down, but it did. Our engineering and operations team are working on restoring services soon. We require this downtime to push fixes we've been working on. The ETA for the site to be back up is on Nov 5th, Saturday 6.30AM PST. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
