We could prevent spam bots from registering by installing a (unreadable, annoying) captcha.  This is what the one for this software looks like:

We'll report him but I doubt anything will come of it.  The email used was a free Yahoo account.  The same IP was used during both attacks on our forums this week but since in all likelihood the attacker was a bot,  the IP used was probably that of a zombie computer whose owner is unaware that their machine has been taken over.
Somebody ought to be able to take down the web sites he's linked to.  >Sad
