You got THAT right......... Even Goodwill now has their own auction site, so nothing interesting ever shows up in their stores.  Pits.

Hmmm....I guess that depends on how many 'ritas you've imbibed prior to Friday Nite Diving.  There might be some pretttttty good lookers crashing inside those dumpsters right under the particular box you're reaching for.....

Good to hear from you Stardust!!

I wonder if this eBay Live was worse then others, or if there were just less cheer leaders attending this time?

Re: Deeply Unhappy eBay Users Wear Tin Foil Hats As Sign of Protest at eBay Live!

Smile

Quote:Here's a taste of what went on behind the headlines at the Las Vegas conference:

-- A smattering of eBay users wore caps made of aluminum foil during the event that were apparently intended to deflect any brainwashing by the company. The hats -- bizarre as they seemed -- illustrate how, despite eBay's popularity, some of its users are deeply unhappy about everything from higher listing fees implemented on the Web site last year to online fraud.
wow, i totally missed this thread.  cant believe us tinfoil hat people made the SF Chronicle - how cool is that? Smile

course, the writer only got it part right. he apparently didnt get the bit about how it prevents you from falling for all their 'spins' where they do things that make it worse for the sellers but tell us how it's for our own good

The more things change - the more they stay the same.

I want a tin foil hat.

I'm not surprised  there wasn't much talking at the Meet & Greet if they didn't put user IDs on the name tags.  Icon_scratch
yeah, was kinda stupid.  when they tried to put my name on my button, i made them put my posting id on there.  least that way maybe folks would know who i was.  course, the tinfoil hat was also a pretty good clue who friend and I were Wink

Since it was my first Live, I dont have anything to compare it to, but there were an awful lot of extremely dull people there. Only came across a few fun, interesting, people.  Met DenimDreaming and her mum (both fun), met SSBChick - pretty interesting to chat with and seemed really nice, met a few i know from other forums (all fun and nice), met HarveyBaby (extremely fun person!), Golden Palace folks (very friendly folks), Auctiva staff (very nice guys), and a few stores boardies.  Other than that, most of the people I met were dull, dull, dull.

Did they serve grilled cheese hors d'oeuvres or steak and kidney stone pie at their booth?  :twistedevil:
