The Mile Wall: 19-year-old Tries to Create World's Longest Web Page
Quote: A 19-year-old Georgia man is trying to raise money for college, enter the Guinness Book of Worlds Records and create a Web destination for advertisers, romantics and just about anyone -- all with a single project.

Travis Smith...is trying to create the world's longest Internet page with postings from a broad array of people and companies. If Smith accomplishes his goal, the site will stretch for a mile horizontally.  Though he has attracted many advertisers, Smith is trying to distinguish his site, the Mile Wall, from www.milliondollarhomepage.com/ and similar sites...

"The biggest difference and probably the most important is that it is an ad space but it's pretty much up for anything that the user wants," he said during an interview Tuesday. "It doesn't necessarily have to be a link. I envision, and it's probably just a dream, but I think it would be funny if someone used it to ask someone to marry them on it, just something quirky, crazy anything like that."

Hmm. 17.9 feet and already slow loading.  The pixel page was a better idea.

The load times will keep it from  reaching 1 mile before he reaches retirement.  Tongue2
