Quote:Here Comes the "Your Competitor Reports All of Your Listings Button" I'm afraid you're right.
Ebay's purchase of a portion of Craigslist is showing up - reporting of other people's listings there has become a real mess. It will be here too. What do you think - three Ids reporting it and a listing automatically vanishes? No need for expensive minimum wage employees to monitor the system, the masses will police themselves. Yeah Right. Ah, the consequences of the consequences.

Re: New Consequences and Other Policy Management Progress
Matt should consider educating eBay EMPLOYEES concerning the 150 policies. The Report button would be no big deal if eBay employees had a clue.

So to make it easier for members to send us these reports, in the spring of 2006, every item page will have a "Report this Item" link at the bottom of the page. This is the part thats gonna be a diaster. It will become a free-for-all and I can see listings being reported and pulled left and right. They should police their own site and stop relying on the rats to do it for them. Going to be a very interesting spring this year to watch :popcorneaters: Angel
Exactly what I wasthinking. If they are allowing the quick-report, I certainly hope they have a better team of people to actually review the report, rather than pull first--ask questions later. I know it's not true, but I hope... Think of the damage a competitor with a little bit of free time could do NOW.

Holy crap. Either the dude is totally pretending, and enjoying everyone's reactions--or this is an example of what we can all expect in the near future.
When do those buttons go on?
