***Introducing 'Report this Item' on item pages***

Hi everyone… I'm Naresh Narwani, a Product Manager for Trust and Safety features. Earlier this year, Matt Halprin, VP, Global Marketplace Policy Management, in his message on new consequences and other policy management processes, outlined our plans to make it easier for members to report possible listing violations.

I'm happy to say that the "Report this Item" feature will be here over the next few days. Every item page will have a "Report this Item" link at the bottom of the page. Using this link will bypass the Contact Us flow and take you directly to a list of possible reasons why a listing needs to be brought to our attention. This will save you valuable time and help us review potential listing violations quickly. The item number will be included automatically when you use this link.

With millions of active listings on eBay on any given day, we need your help in keeping the marketplace safe. We truly appreciate the efforts of our members who report potential violations to us, and help us keep eBay a safe marketplace to buy and sell.

Ebay's purchase of a portion of Craigslist is showing up - reporting of other people's listings there has become a real mess. It will be here too. What do you think - three Ids reporting it and a listing automatically vanishes? No need for expensive minimum wage employees to monitor the system, the masses will police themselves.

Matt should consider educating eBay EMPLOYEES concerning the 150 policies.  The Report button would be no big deal if eBay employees had a clue.

This is the part thats gonna be a diaster.  It will become a free-for-all and I can see listings being reported and pulled left and right.  They should police their own site and stop relying on the rats to do it for them.

Going to be a very interesting spring this year to watch

Exactly what I wasthinking. If they are allowing the quick-report, I certainly hope they have a better team of people to actually review the report, rather than pull first--ask questions later.

I know it's not true, but I hope...

Think of the damage a competitor with a little bit of free time could do NOW.

posting violations that were too hard to REPORT before now... the new REPORT BUTTON on ALL LISTINGS are going to make it a CLICK AND REPORT.... POOF, the offending listing will be HISTORY... way to go ebay... putting on my vigilante badge and strapping on my GUN.... bring it on you LISTING VIOLATORS.....

atleast ebay gave all the LISTING VIOLATORS a few days warning, so they can get those hundred/thousands of listings MASS AMENDED through turbo lister. OR, individually amended. time consuming? should thaought about that when you were laughing about how you were abusing the system. probably the same ones that run red lights, cheat on taxes, cheat on spouse, and just generally BREAK THE LAW in this society.
