eBay's largest sellers are dropping like flies.  Brandon Dupsky/Sell2All was a member of PeSA's board of directors and co-wrote the book ""Insider Secrets of an e-Bay Millionaire."

Lincoln 'eBay Millionaire' Files For Bankruptcy

A Lincoln man who wrote a book claiming he made more than $8 million a year is filing for bankruptcy for his company.

Brandon Dupsky is founder and CEO of Sell2All, which sold consigned items on the Internet. He co-wrote "Insider Secrets of an e-Bay Millionaire."

The Chapter 7 filing did not estimate assets and liabilities of the company.

Sell2All sold excess inventory for companies through online auctions on the Internet. It got a percentage from the seller or earned profit by selling items for more than liquidation prices.

OK maybe it's not so funny to see so many having a hard time with ebay.

In a way it is sad because ebay has had MANY opportunities to turn
around the site but have never really bothered or made sincere efforts to do so.

They're charging $197 + $9.50 shipping for the book/CD package and "free bonuses". I say: lower the price to $9.99, change the title to "How to gross millions and make nothing on eBay" and you might be able to move 1 or 2 copies of the book

He won that contest by having 15 employees send out "network friends" invites to Overstock users.  By the time the contest ended he had 14,500 "friends".

I know a lot of sellers who said "fuck Overstock, I'm not selling here" because of all the unwanted friends invites emails they received.

Big on eBay but small business by the US government's definition.  Small businesses are going to have  to differentiate themselves on something besides price to compete with the big box national retailers .  None of those 3 did that.  Their customer service was as bad as the big guys.

Ditto.  The "big" eBay sellers who survive on thin margins by selling in quantity rather than quality can't survive when a national chain's online store starts playing the "volume selling" game too and cuts its prices below the much smaller "big eBay seller's" break even level...

ChannelAdvisor Scot Wingo was familiar with Sell2All's business and said Tuesday he was "very sad to see this happen to a very nice guy," referring to Dupsky. Wingo, who wrote a book called "eBay Strategies," said he cautions sellers against the "eBay death spiral." He said this involves an age-old cash flow problem/cycle that typically, but not always, occurs with sellers who rely on low starting price auctions with no reserve. "If you run your business with more fixed-price options and with a multi-channel focus, you know what you're items are going to sell for."

From a Lincoln Nebraska newspaper:

The Sell2All Web site says the company ships items from 35 warehouses daily. It lists itself as one of the top 10 largest companies selling on eBay out of 49 million and claimed to have 10,000 auctions per week with more than 200 clients.

The company also did business as Back-Track, Bidmix.com, Closeout HeadQuarters, DropPro, Dropship HeadQuarters, Electronic Head Quarters, Network Mega Mart according to the bankruptcy filing...

At least one creditor was not completely surprised by Sell2AllÂ’s bankruptcy filing.

“It was evident from the statements they sent us that they weren’t making any money on the product we sent them,” said Mike Duweling, controller at Heartland Hobby Wholesale. “It always looked like they were losing money.”
