OK, we've watching this all unfold on WP and  on TT... Happy1
We think you all have the right thoughts on the scenario..

We "were" the 6th largest store on WP...magically we dropped our inventory 500 items in the last 3 days...
There was a real feeling that the  Protest was going to hit....So in anticipation, we de-listed to another site...not E.
Within 24 hours we had hits on items that had not seen a hit on WP in 40 days....
not too hard to decide it was the right move... Wave

Quote:It was added 2 days ago. BBH read DRM's rants on OTWA (and 10 other boards) about PSU accepting advertising from auction sites and decided it would be humorous to add it to the 'other auction sites' forum here to annoy DRM even further.  It's programmed to appear after posts 1 and 8 on the WP thread.  It doesn't appear on the other 273 forums here--only this one.

Amy, you guys are sooooooo evil. Laughing4

More likely hatching further plots. :blinkie:

DRM  does have a real "thing" for PSU. Violent1
Btw, Bob (at PSU) is a great guy and NOT in anyone's pocket.

DRM is a TOTAL  :asshat2:

2,288 items in his store. 3rd largest store on WP.

Doug is not a fool. He won't stick around.
[/quote]

Yup, he gave it everything he could give it, and now "edit" has changed his mind on his promises.

He responds to Karen's reply to him

wp seller Wrote:Another reality check:

As a seller, I am ONLY here to sell. If sales aren't happening, I have no reason to be here. If all the current store owners have burned up their initial buying exuberance, there's no one left to sell to. You can't expect us to keep growing without telling the world that we're here.

I realize that $9000/mo (900 stores X $9.95 basic rate) isn't a lot of money to run a company with. But there's no real need to HAVE a company if the business needs of its participants isn't being addressed.

Regarding your expenses: I noticed that you mentioned "glaring upgrade needs..." Does this mean that all your initial assurances that your infrastructure was designed to meet the needs for years to come is not quite accurate?

He said the same thing before WP1 opened.  WP1's infrastructure slowed to a crawl when the site hit 5,000 listings.  :Smile

From the same  thread:
Quote:Just to give you an idea of my budget to date on Wagglepop:

Store rental - $20
Business Cards - $5 - working for now but will change as other methods come available
Newspaper Ad - in the future but will cost me $300
Flyer Advertising - in the future $20 per show
Website - looking into one this will be my next advertising outlet.

How has this worked for me?

1. Regal Canada has sent me a catalogue of their products and want to enter futher discussions.

2. Kool Charmz have given me samples of their products to sell and see if their is an interest.

3. Az trading is looking to setup a meeting with me to sell their products online.

Well, whoopee! Those are some fine results.  This guy is thrilled that he may have found some new suppliers, through his advertising efforts, but what good does it do him if there are no buyers??  Tard

Ummmmmm, I think he has that backwards.  Wagglepop should be the advertising outlet that he uses to draw customers to his website...of course to do that WP would need traffic. Smile

Exactly.

Is that "spam" programmed to kick off every once in awhile on it's own?  See it's the Tulips fault ... all of this, for not "spamming" other options earlier.

That ad wasn't my first choice to put there but unfortunately Kool-aid didn't have an affiliate program.
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011
