I just had to stop by after reading about RobertJohnson's great inspiration to do a promotion. I think it is a little late and WP should have been doing that with their great "Grand Opening". I was even more surprised to see the list of people that have left recently. Their names are familiar to me. Patti, I am surprised you stuck it out this long. I would never had been able to have the patience to keep my fingers quiet with all that I read there. Good luck in your new store. AuctionQuests
Hi Lurker - I remember you from WP. Glad to see you here. I like your store look on AQ. How are you doing over there? Started listing over there and only sold two items. At least it was two items. But then sales stopped. So I am just concentrating on my eCrater store. Was only able to list about 15 things today. Kids are driving me nuts today. Must be the snow... ~Patti~ |

Bob recently cancelled his showcase store on WP so perhaps he understands the lay of the land more than he reveals. In the past he closed up shop and left WP but he returned approximately a month later. I can see where he would like to be personally convinced by others that returning was not a mistake and that WP still has a pulse. He and other sellers are desperately applying artificial respiration but I'm afraid the patient will inevitably be pronounced as decreased. I noticed as I'm sure you did that there was not much response to his promotional effort.

Quote:Popular Online Auction Site The current owner just bought the site in December. Don't be deceived by the site's jump from 10,000 to 49,000 lisings over the past few months. If you look close you'll see that most of those new listings are the owner listing thousands of dropship items (from Doba maybe?) Quote:I had no idea ONE PERSON could run an online auction site. 90% of the small sites running phpProBid/RScript that spam the boards at PSU are one person operations. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hi all!
I missed the welcome party! officially to Patti, Kelli, Bill, and Laura, and anyone else I missed since I've been away! I can't believe what I'm seeing as I catch up on my reading! Someone really offered to pay WP more money?! And is encouraging others to as well? Wow. As if $9.95 a month wasn't enough for no advertising whatsoever. And I thought I was dense and took too long to stop banging my head against the wall! Throwing more money at WP is only lining their/his/her/whatever pocket. It sure won't help the sellers. I'm actually surprised WP is still there and so many sellers are still there. If the non-grand opening won't convince them that WP is going in the wrong direction, nothing will. If you're still at WP and reading this, please back up your listings and look at some alternatives and be prepared. If you're still making sales there, you are one lucky popper! Rebecca

I've got a t-shirt idea for them... They say sell-thru doesn't matter! www.wagglepop.com
Platz, an excellent suggestion. Who do you contact to suggest it?
