Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
~Hi ya scoop and BeenThereDoneThat. It was only a matter of time before I joined in as a member. Of course I was a lurker for quite some time but if I needed info on what was happening with WP, this was the place to come.
~To me that icon represented something special from WP. I thought it would be their way of acknowledging the hard work that the senior poppers did and continued to do for their site. When I saw that many new members got the same thing, I was very disappointed. WP is not the same site as it was back in May when it re-opened. ~Hi ya, Platzki. I do apologize for that. Back then it was a new forum that I was just figuring out how to work and it was for, at that time too, just for WP stores. It was changed quite some time ago for people with online stores. I'm still trying to help those that want to help themselves with cyberspace business. I still have an ebay store and my website but I just broke down and got my domain a few weeks ago so now I'm researching hosting packages. I looking into tulip tools hosting at this moment, thinking that I may go with them as it seems quite a few members here are using them so they must be good. (Darn, I can't get my smileys to work. Is there a special button somewhere) |

HIJACK!
Regic (or anyone else who might know) - would it be difficult to switch from OsCMax to Zen? Is Zen considered to be more stable? I'm having a bunch of 'buggy' issues with the new release of Max. I'm sick of editing code just to get it to work the way it SHOULD. Primarily I'm wondering, are the database structures similar enough that I could port it without major headaches? Also, how difficult would it be to take my BTS templates and change them to work with Zen? I'm comfortable with PHP and phpMyAdmin so I don't mind modifying things or working in the database. /End Hijack

You'd have to manually add your existing customers either through phpMyAdmin or by adding the AddCustomers mod. Very difficult. Zen's templates are all php/xml and can be a pain to modify (which is why we buy our templates ).

I do love my templates and have always made them myself, but I'd rather pay for it and have a cart that freakin works! I didn't realize there was an EZ Populate - that will make life much easier! I just installed Zen locally and I'm off to play!

Bric, glad you joined us. TT hosting is the best anywhere, not just price, but BBH, and Regic bend over backwards to help out. Good luck with your new ventures. You made me laugh when you said you came here to get the scoop on WP. That just goes to show you how censored the boards are. Factor in that Ray was also intercepting PM's and boy that is enough to get anybody to flee. Big Brother Ray is watching the poppers very closely. All the founding members(the real original crew) were the soul of WP. I don't even know who is left? It can't be very many. Again welcome |

karay Wrote:At the same time, for others it represents something new to treat with fear and disdain, I'll admit that the reason I list on Amazon Marketplace and not on Wagglepop is fear...fear of no sales, fear of not paying my bills, fear of not eating. Consider these numbers for the last holiday season: Amazon: over 80 million items sold (the busiest day was 12/11 with over 4 million items sold) WP (December): about 8,000 items sold Fear of no eyeballs is another factor in my decision not to list on WP. Even the items in the TT member mall get more views than the average WP listing. If I wanted to list an item and have it get 0 or 1 views (like many WP listings) I'd list it on Bidville for free.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I'm still one of the originals with a Floundering Member icon. Regic is working on my cart now. As soon as we can get the link to work, I'm off to C&P.
Edited to add: Regic did a top-notch job. My stupid ISP needs to do their DNS update. Geez, this is driving me nuts... I WANNA PLAY !! |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
: sort, of.
Is there something out there called "How To Set Up Your Own On-Line Store for the Complete, Unadulterated, Blithering Idiot Who Thinks SEO Means 'Send Everybody Over?'" I'm so jealous of all you guys starting your own sites, but I am so CLUELESS, that after nearly 9 years and several thousand feebacks on eBay, I'm still discovered features I didn't know existed.
