Ok, on the new thread over at WP, "Need your feedback Store Page", I may be way off base but...
Wouldn't WP have a problem with an outside script being called from within WP? It's a form.cgi, which is obviously a rather innocuous script, but if you're going to allow ANY script being called you run the risk of problems down the line if others jumped on this bandwagon (ie. people embedding other "malicious" scripts to run). Right? Edited because my coffee is still not kicking in this morning....

I was told an absolute NO because of exactly the reason you posted, eclectica. I reckon all rules are skewed/bent for how much Kool-aid you partake ...

I kind of figured - but what do I know? I completely agree about the bending of rules. Since this person is now the head cheerleader/dictator, I'm sure it's just fine and dandy. Since it appears to be acceptable, maybe I'll go list some items... :twistedevil:

And what she is setting up is their feeble attempt to appease people who have difficulty with the lame checkout at WP! Did any of you see the post she made recently to a newbie? I almost died laughing as it sooo sounds like a salesman pitch, bolded line is my favorite part below: Quote:vas 21 Jun 2007 00:32 Sure, I'll pay $9.95 for no updates and for you to watch everything I do. |

Quote:Considering it is coming from VAS, we all know it will be ok It was started yesterday and is still there, which tells me KarAndRay must be perfectly ok with it. Quote:as they are friends with the owner. I think you're right. OR this is the reincarnation of "Karen", only as a seller this time. Quote:their feeble attempt to appease people who have difficulty with the lame checkout at WP And to think... they PAY for the privilege of being on WP. Why not go to a site that works? Quote:It's quiet now cause many of them are doing wrist stretches for a listing contest that will begin tomorrow night. Um, yeah. Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. It's quiet over there due to the itchy delete finger of your beloved leader.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Don't poppers know that the rules can be changed on a whim, depending on who you are? This is Number 21 in my list of CULT CHARACTERISTICS.(Hey, PS, worth a couple strikes, don't you think?) Quote:21) leaders have the right to arbitrarily change the laws, policies, and procedures that govern their actions or the actions among the flock if they feel it is in their (the leaders) best interests to do so. Since leaders have supreme wisdom, there is no need for followers to question leaders' decisions in these matters, nor would they, as they would not wish to risk abandonment from the cult or retribution from its leaders This favoritism toward bending to the wishes of the high-ranking disciples was something I, too, experienced. When I had a store there, I did the right thing and asked "Karen" about adding links to my listings. I simply wanted to clarify the WP policy as I was reading it, as I was considering signing up with Link Referral and Site Meter. The reply I received was an emphatic "Yes, you are correct. You may NOT add such links. This is in violation of WP policy." Well, a couple months went by. Poopers were getting on the boards and jumping up and down like ping-pong balls on a trampoline about all their page hits from here and there. Some, like SB bragged openly about the traffic he was getting from the LINKS to Site Meter and Link Referral in his listings. (He was also king of the spam sandwich, giving helpful hints on how to do it without getting caught). I went into some of their listings and saw big and bold links to Link Referral, Site Meter, and others. But wait! Isn't this VERBODIN? I took it up on the boards: "Hey, all you Poppers bragging about your hits from here and there. Did you know your traffic links are not allowed? I got that edict straight from "Karen'" months ago." I was furious. How could "Karen" NOT allow me to have links, when all the cheerleaders had them, flaunted and bragged about them? The cheerleaders claimed they just didn't bother to ask, they just put them in. And there they were, and had been there, since day one. So, what happened after I posted the rules? Many of the biggest Koolaid-drinking cheerleaders had a full-on tizzy fit when I made my post and threatened to jump ship if they couldn't keep their links. Literally, within minutes, sure as wombatt poo poo Sherlock, the "link policy" was amended to allow them. The cheerleaders breathed a sigh of relief and praised "staff" for being so "responsive" and willing to "listen" to them and their issues. KaRay came out smelling like a rose, and I was steamed. I knew it was ass-kissing : on the scale of planting a big, sloppy, wet one on Paul Bunyan's crack. This really yanked my chain. All this time I was being good, trying to play by the rules, while the Koolaid kids was getting away with blatantly breaking them, right in front of KaRay's sniffly noses. Of course, they (he/she) certainly must have known, but just let it slide to placate the chosen ones. This is classic Ray in action, Lurkers. Preferential treatment to those willing to pucker up and kiss his slimy ass. Better work on that whistle if you want to stay! And the fun part is, you never know from one day to the next what changes are in store. Makes planning your business strategy so much fun, RIGHT? Ray Edit: And the moral to teach your children is WHINY ASS-KISSERS FINISH FIRST. designers-bargains.ecrater.com |
