I never used Ad smart...but here are the 'guidelines' as posted on the Wagglepop site...
Quote:Wagglepop AdSmart Rules and Guidelines I can't imagine a bunch of stores deliberately linking right to Ebay - but I wonder if the module or whatever WP uses for the Ad smart doesn't default to a given site...? And Ebay was used as the default site? Maybe Ebay will buy out Wagglepop... (Yeah right)

I got an idea If it's OK for Ray to have ghost stores and fake AdSmart links, why doesn't somebody open an Ebay store on WP. Just call it MyEbayStore and stock with an item or two. Homepage: "Welcome to my MyEbayStore, where you find thousands of items to fit your needs at unbeatable prices. We strive to provide the best customer service on the net and go that "extra mile" by being your personal shopper. No matter what you're looking for, you'll find it in MyEbayStore. Thanks for coming to MyEbayStore. Before you leave, be sure to check ALL my great listings in MyEbayStore. And don't forget to tell your friends about MyEbayStore. No purchase is to large or too small at MyEbayStore. Have a great day. Hope to see you again soon at MyEbayStore."
Thanks for the responses. I just wanted it to be clear that I'm not the only one seeing these links redirected to eBay. A lot of the categories have these fake Ad Smart banners. I also checked eBay and none of these are stores on there either. This is the funniest one I've found yet. It's under Toys & Hobbies, Action Figures: Quote:Classic Hot Wheels & Matchbox! And this one under Entertainment & Memorabilia: Quote:NO ONE SHOPS HERE!
Oh my goodness. I am so speachless, first for everything I guess!! That is THE FUNNIEST THING EVER!!! Thanks for that Sherry!! Let's see how long it lasts now that we have brought it to Ray's attention! Hey Ray Maybe you shouldn't have spent all your time watching the boards. |

[b][i]HOW!? I honestly just do not get it... thankfully! |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
We were up to 12 lurkers at once earlier. They've been dropping in steadily all day. I'm guessing that one of them reported this "abuse" of Ad Smart to AndRay. The eBay linked ads are all gone now. It wouldn't take a leap of faith to guess who the tattle-tail could be. Party Pooper...
My theory for their existence is this. A seller (or sellers) left shall we say very disillusioned with all the broken promises, all the cutbacks on information and lack of true support and decided to express their discontent through the money remaining in their non-refundable Ad Smart fund. They blew the wad in this public display. Quite clever I think. AndRay you really have to get your nose out of the forum and get a grip on what else is going on in your trust-based community. ETA: Or AndRay came over here himself and found out first hand.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.

Quote:ETA: Or AndRay came over here himself and found out first hand. I still maintain that Ray drove his Couger down to Baja after picking it up in L.A., and is down on the beach sipping a 50-cent margarita and checking in with TT on his laptop a couple times a day to see what's happening with Waggleflop. Saves him lots of time monitoring his own site. We have all the poop here. With only 190 paying store sellers he could still live like a prince in Ensenada and do as much work as he's accustomed to doing, which is nothing. Cha-ching. |

If Ray removes it, he should be refunding them the money. Come on in lurkers!! Give your point of views, we won't ya! So once again it shows Ray reading the boards, or some little baby tattletale........grow up!! |

Quote:Well, I hope whoever did it complains, as legally he refuses to refund people their money for their adsmart, so they should be able to use a link to wherever they want, legally. If Ray removes it, he should be refunding them the money. As one cheerleader said to me when I was still at Pooper, "it's Ray's sandbox and he can do what he wants." He refunds nothing. He can remove links, shut down stores, remove listings - never a refund. At least that 10-headed monster called The Bay that Ray finds so distastefully greedy and self-serving, credits sellers. There has even been a time or two when The Bay credited sellers when the site was down. Case in point: It took over a month, several emails to CC and a couple rants on the WP boards for me to finally get my 25-cent credit for a mutually-agreed canceled sale on WP. |
