Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I guess I am one of the few that MADE money on Wagglepop. So, why did I leave?
1. I was running out of other poppers to sell to. 2. I was digusted by the condescending tone taken by management when REAL BUSINESS QUESTIONS were asked. 3. I won't give up my freedom of speech and have a valid post edited because the powers above don't want to address the issue. I am a hobby seller. I looked into making it a career move, but I'm tired of eBay, don't want to open my own site right now and Wagglepop definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. It was 48 days of my life that were a huge learning experience for me of what NOT to do. I can't imagine spending any more time than that in the school of hard knocks. Good to see you Platzki
I hate stupid people!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The store count has doubled since AnKaRay's announcement of changes to WP.
The $50/month showcase stores have doubled since the announcement. The listing counts have gone up in these 2 weeks almost 3%! It is starting to look like a viable auction site now! Nearly 80 sellers registered more than a week, who can't find time to put their $10 to use with more than 10 listings. A serious seller would do just like the "deadbeats" who post here did, list EVERYTHING to get their money's worth. Speaking of the new sellers, what kind of sellers could they possibly be? They didn't board the Good Ship Wagglepop in 2006, so they are either new to the eBay world or must not be very business savvy to look for alternatives to eBay 2 years ago. One particular seller listed this item for sale, view it now before someone contacts him to tell him to retake the pic: http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=538496 Now, the first thing as a buyer that I look at is the price. The second is the pic. The third is the description. This is pretty standard for buyers. Now, if this is an example of a new revolutionist seller, who leaves a price tag on showing $5-10 less than he is asking, who would buy? If a seller won't handle this little detail, and write out a real description, who's to say he'll put the right mailing address on the envelope? This is just one example that I noticed easily, and I am sure I could find more of the new revolutionists if I could stomach viewing the site any longer today. If WP is attracting sellers who create listings like this, what future do they, or anyone have, past the *POOF* button Ray loves after they don't pay their bill? Another thing to note. Almost 2 years online, and only 338496 listings have been added to the site (They started at 200,001.) I have a feedback in my profile on WP from a year ago that was in the 402,000 range. This means the amazing number of sales (and spam) by all the cheerpoppers have only resulted in 36,000 new listings in a year! No wonder sales suck! No one will visit a site that has the same thing every day, just sitting there collecting E-dust. That's revolutionary all right! The whole point is that Ray got 115 more sellers on board the Good Ship Wagglepop and he can't even get them to list anything. That's sad, and what's even worse is that there are Rscript sites out there with far more features, sales, and traffic than WP has ever had, and these sellers could have a better site to sell on for free. Everyone here knows my story was pretty similar to FineThings4U. I came, I sold, tried to close, and was booted. I'm doing the same though, focusing all my efforts into my website, and I guarantee with no marketing other than Froogle and Usenet feeds, I can sell more than I did on WP because I've done it (wish I'd never stopped for the flea market folly!) If any of the new poppers are reading, you'd be wise to jump ship to your own domain now before you drown.
"Listen up Mother****er. Try that bulls*** here and I will hand you and your head in a basket"

Quote:view it now before someone contacts him to tell him to retake the pic: You're missing the point, Xpopper. KaRayAnd doesn't give a rat's ass (never did) about sales on WP. The point is, was and always will be, how many Koolaid-drugged, befuddled sellers can be conned into dropping a minimum of $10/mo, month after month, into WP's bottomless collection plate (receiving nothing in return), before these same sellers get fed up with the BS and/or discover they can get the same crappy results elsewhere at no cost, and blow the pop stand. KaRayAnd can't be stupid enough to think a listing like this will ever sell, nor does KaRayAnd care, as long as this seller faithfully, and without question, bows to the almight Ray and feeds the hamster. Simple as that. |

Quote:amy Wrote:Imagine how much better they would be doing if they had had the sense to move their eBay operations to Wagglepop SmartSell Pro (the OAI's best value) instead of Amazon Marketplace after the Summer 2006 eBay fee hikes! I seriously can't see a seller like Caiman listing on, or receiving any benefit from, WP for 3 reasons 1. Caiman usually has 1.5-2 million items listed in their Amazon store (and several million more listed on their websites)...WP's entire site has 75K items. WP's infrastructure couldn't handle a seller like Caiman, and WP's archaic order process makes it impossible for a large seller to sell on the site...which is why none do. 2. They definitely wouldn't receive any traffic benefit from listing on WP (caiman.com receives more traffic than WP and their tower.com site receives about 10X more traffic than WP). Why would anyone bother listing anything on a venue that has less traffic (and far fewer buyers) than their own website? 3. Large sellers are usually smart enough to realize that the seller-to-seller sales that sellers on small eBay alternatives depend on aren't a viable business plan and pursuing those pity sales isn't worth the effort. xwpopper Wrote:The $50/month showcase stores have doubled since the announcement. They doubled because AnRay posted a message on Monday saying showcase stores had several times more traffic, clickthroughs, buyers, etc than regular stores. The faithful dutifully rushed to open showcase stores. anray Wrote:Hello Wagglepop Members, Not everyone agreed with AnRay's stats: wp seller Wrote:The Christmas season is usually my good season so I upgraded during the past Christmas season to see if it made a difference. Sorry, but it did not - Traffic was actually down and I only made one sale On the subject of showcase stores, why would someone pay $50 monthly for a showcase store when the total value of their listed inventory is only $320? (the 25 item store with the motorcycle boots logo)...but then again, why would anyone pay $10 monthly to list one $2 item?

Wasn't the whole point of getting the higher priced store was having a more prominent link to your store for increased sales?
