Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:I would agree. The problem is with User's credibility in enthsiastically cheerleading for a selling venue that supposedly has such great SEO, when he himself has never made claim to being a seller/store owner or even a buying member there. User brags about his sales and the sales of other WP sellers, but has yet to say they were on WP or resulting from WP's great SEO. If he's going to come to this board and beat his chest for Ray and his disciples, then surely I would think he would want to give us some indication that he is speaking from personal experience and objectiviely-verifiable statistics, (not heresay, rumor, and bragadocious ramblings) with hard evidence to back up his claims, otherwise how can any seller make an educated assessment of the value of the site as a selling venue? Well, Designer, a few points: 1. He|she very likely originally came here not to hype WP, as you said, but to defend it, in response to all the bashing. There is a difference. 2. He|she has as much right as any of us to speak his|her mind, even if we don't like it. (only within the framework of the forum rules) 3. It shouldn't be difficult for anyone to make an assessment about the viability of WP as a venue to sell on.........the GMV tells the story quite well. 4. I don't like Ray because I feel that he is unscrupulous, and I dislike the WP spammer/cheerleaders because they are annoying and stupid. But, I don't dislike anyone simply for defending themselves, someone else or a site. User falls in to that last category. Quote:I, for one, would have to see some proof the Moon is made of green cheese before I would toast up a bagel as a tribute. Um, could you please show me where I "posted up a tribute"? Or, was that not intended for me? And yes, there are other "alternative" sites with fewer sales, but that's not what this thread is about. True, however, it is certainly related. Especially since some who participated heavily in this thread are now promoting sites with fewer sales than WP. |

Quote:you can advertise your WP store for free in the Product, Service, Web Site Announcements forum The conversion rates on clickthroughs from that forum are probably higher than those from some linking methods I've seen sugested on the WP boards (i.e. traffic exchanges) |

Quote:Well, Designer, a few points: Yes, there is a difference. As I recall, however, User came here to bash Brian and pump Ray after the big bruhaha that came down over PSSU. Quote:Um, could you please show me where I "posted up a tribute"? Or, was that not intended for me? No, it was not meant for you. It was meant for cheerleaders who make unsubstantiated claims. And as far as I'm concerned, Xpoppers pumping lame sites (and indeed there are plenty of them) is not an issue here. Although the sales are verifiably pathetic at WP, the biggest problem with WP is the owner, and that would still be the problem no matter what. I personally was not disappointed in my sales, but rather the site and the way it was run -- and, from what I see from recent posts, continues to be run. Quote:. Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
yesterday Wrote:I have scheduled the official announcements for Monday, 6/2/08 for changes effective Friday, 8/1/08. I believe the word "advanced" in that quote is a typo and should really be "archaic". When I compare the features of my current selling tools (Fillz, Stone Edge Order Manager, plus Zen Cart's built-in selling tools ) and past selling tools (MarketWorks) to Wagglepop's "advanced selling tools", Wagglepop's tools finishes dead last in every category: features, order management, inventory management, fulfillment, sales/promotional tools etc, etc, etc. etc. Another way of looking at it, if selling tools were cars then Infopia's tools would be a Rolls Royce and Wagglepop's tools would be a (used, beatup, engineless, rusted) Yugo. Hope this helps.   |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
A parting message from a store that closed today. This was left on their landing page:
Quote: I have been selling quality products for years on various websites. Here, I mine as well put things in a box labeled storage. If those can make it I applaude you. The rest good luck & keep looking! All the best peace & good will-FORTE I believe "mine" should have been typed as "might" but I copied it as written. This store and the message are both gone but I have a screen shot as evidence.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.
