A new lamb entered the pen since the dust settled. To the best of my knowledge the total number of stores that went poof, both active and empty, was 55. And 2 of those were founding members. One of the 2 was a featured store whom I actually bought from when I was registered on poopland. :o Begs the question; why would any founding member, who has faithfully paid monthly for over a year all of a sudden become a deadbeat, non-paying, miscreant seller. Doesn't it make you go hmmm...? Sneaky, you were darn close with your guess of 225. Guess you had more faith in WP than the seller base itself could maintain.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.
Listings fell by 1,200
Nearly HALF of WP stores have only 50 or less items and about 10% have 5 or less. Let's see a show of hands. Who here would PAY to open a store with only 5 or less items for sale? And, looks like the preschool store owner bought "The Gospel of John" from another new store owner for a PENNY with free first class shipping. (Now, that's a "revolutionary" business model: give away inventory and pay for shipping it, too.) The preschooler even left glowing feedback, but I guess the inspirational book seller was too busy praising the lord and basking in the glory of his first sale to bother returning the favor. Edited to tidy grammar |

Quote:Let's see a show of hands. Who here would PAY to open a store with only 5 or less items for sale? It would depend whether I've had my first cup of coffee or not. tolensmiley: A seller asked this question today... Quote:The count is going in the wrong direction. Wonder if the announcements about the changes had anything to do with the drop in store count..?? ...and AndRay responded by posting his usual post pruning 'sellers are deadbeats' sermon (the bolding is his) Quote:Voluntary account closures are unrelated to this customary "end of month" account processing. We always have had new sellers replacing sellers who leave throughout the calendar month - a dynamic that we have discussed before as counterproductive and curious, but one that exists nonetheless. |
