THUMP, THUMP, THUMP
And another one gone And another one gone And another three bite the dust. 194 FMG has almost 1/4 of the site's listings and almost 1/4 of the stores have about 2/10 of 1% of the listings. Makes for the "best buyer experience", wouldn't you say DRM? Edit: Scooped by Platzki |

It is also curious to note that the home page still misleadingly touts the SmartSell Program as the best thing since sliced bread at $9.95/mo. Nowhere does it say the fee will be increased 3-fold in two weeks. There is a link should you want to "learn more" about the Smart Sell program leading to a page describing all the wonderful attributes of the program, at the bottom of which is an aside indicating the program will be retiring on 6/1 in favor of the new and improved "Enterprise Package." Since there is no mention of an associated fee increase there either, a prospective seller would again be MISLEAD to believe what he/she should be receiving in June is an increase in services, not an increase in fees. In order to find out what fees will be June 1, the prospective seller must click on YET ANOTHER LINK that takes that prospect to the grand announcement. BTW: Does anybody know if Poppers have received ANY type of personal notification of the new fee structure? [/quote] According to a post made by LurkeyLou on PSU KaAndChrisRay sent an email to all "active" sellers (not all active members) on Saturday May 10th. He was informed of this via PM from none other than PS. I must agree with you and share your disgust that Ray hasn't shown the responsibility (or maturity) to revamp the home page or the seller's information page. What a cop-out; just putting in an obscure link. 16 stores, that I am aware of, have signed up since the 'announcement' and I bet none of them have a clue that their fees will be billed at $29.95 come June 10th. One, so far empty, sprung for a featured store. Their shock will be greater. BBH, I have to agree with your prediction of less than 100 stores by the end of June. In the last 2 weeks not only newbies but a number of founding members and FMs that returned with Revolution Rewind have abandoned ship. This doesn't include the ones who have amalgamated their numerous stores. I think there will be more of this happening too. WPs lowest store count to date was 110 - it is not a leap of faith to consider the count being less than that when the dust settles. Of course Ray could have his drop-ship stores in place by then to bolster the count - but what does that matter, it won't bolster the popularity of the site for buyers. Too much dirt under his fingernails earned by digging a hole with his bare hands for all the good sellers he lost. Edited for goofs in grammar

BTW,
189 stores. Another founding member left this evening. One that was recently on page one.

Between 05/18 and 05/20 2008 the following stores at WagglePop closed:
4thworld BARBIE DEPOT Bella Bags Books, Buttons & More Galore Cats Corner Jewelry Daves Giftline Dixie Lady's Plants and Shirts DK Dangles dvdandsoftwarehub Fishingpuddycat Heels n Hose Free To Think Images of Faith Just Logos Design Mimi's Plus Sizes and Less plateexpert Stylish Mode Zip Attic Between 05/18 and 05/20 2008 the following stores at WagglePop opened: All the Best from Our Treasure Chest Beautiful Plus my-family-gift-store Queenies Best Bargins Treva's Best Size Tops & Craft Vinyl I think the 2 day shift is more loss than is immediately apparent. Hey Ray - you should outta' assume your creative personality for awhile. Adding the word "BEST" to 3 out of 5 of your newly created stores is obvious and desperate. |
