chiquita,

I always thought that but I think the numbers are fudged even more. Instead of listing a dutch auction or multiple items in at a fixed price you see the same listing listed over and over to fudge and populate the items or rather listings count.

check the store I posted before and go to the last two pages and look at the bags you will see what I mean.

The numbers show a huge discrepancy between PSU and WP, so you are right there is probably even more fudging, including the duplicate posts for the same item. Look at how feedback is counted too. They count every single one even when you see that one person has left a bunch of feedback. It is all a distorted picture, and I am sure Ray wouldn't have it any other way.  Whip2

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
here is the listing policy on duplicate listing's

Quote:Duplicate Listing
---------------------------------------------------
We understand sellers have reasons to list identical items at the same time. This is permissible, however, the following guidelines must be adhered to:

Sellers may not list more than (4) four identical, or materially identical items at any one time.
Sellers must have the multiple items available for bid or purchase. At no time is it permissible to list the same single item more than once.
Policy: Any seller who attempts to flood a category or any search result by "flooding" the marketplace may be indefinitely suspended, and all listings cancelled without notice or refund.

And I checked about 5 different sellers and whenever possible it is exploited to the limit and beyond. Now I know this is also done on ebay but for good reason most times your listing can get lost in there depending on how a buyer searches ( newly listed or ending soonest). On wagglepop most of the time you own the entire catagory.

Hey truth, I didn't realize the feedback left by sellers who leave wp is still disappearing. I purchased 5 things, 2 were from the same seller and now I only have 2 feedback. What a mess.

Hey I noticed funwithyourpc is gone and so is thismagneticmoment. Have you noticed any other sellers that have left who were active on the boards? Also check out snugglypuppy's store. It shows no items for sale, but on the left hand side it shows 17 items listed in the category part? Is that normal?  :blinkie:

Snuggly posts here, so no surprise, it is weird though about the 17 items, bet Ray is still counting them. There are also several poppers with more than 1 store. Of course Ray has to have at least a few stores, and his brother too.  :Smile

WAGGLEFACT OF THE DAY:

THE BOTTOM 350 STORES AS LISTED ON 11/26/06 1:30AM EST

stores                  350 (bottom)
listings              5724 (as ray states it)
fees paid          $3500+
represents        3.633% of total listings (as ray states it)

when you consider the less than 1% sell through rate well you do the math!

better ways to spend your $9.95

1) a cold 6 pack to read the tt threads with
2) savings account for your kids
3) oh maybe stop at your local OTB once a month and bet the longshots your odds are much better of making money!!

Good job truth, and a very dismal picture of the overall status of the site.
Another way to spend that 10 bucks, donate it to a local charity, that way you benefit people who truly need it, instead of lining Ray's pockets.  Toothy9

Chiquita - I remember a few times checking my store and realizing that I had duplicate listings myself and I knew that I hadn't intentionally listed more than one. Wish I had thought to check the item numbers to see if they were the same. At the time, I chalked it up to something I must have done. I wasn't the only one with that problem though, sounds like overhead experienced it also. Could it be an issue with the software itself? Not that I doubt Ray is doing his best to inflate listings  ;D

I know thismagneticmoment is still there. She did close at one point and then reopened under a new name. Just saw a post by her in the last couple days over there but can't think of the new name. The only other one I noticed was strangely quiet was Terri (Wake Me Up), someone mentioned her a few pages back. It did occur to me that the 'freebie' logos could really hurt her. She was always fairly active on the boards until recently as I recall.
