RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I sure would've like to have reopened my high-priced ebay store, :
![]() ![]() ![]() With the items that I have the potential to move out, a fee hike of this nature would not faze me. However, buyers have to be able to SEE what I have for sale. No brainer, I would think. > ![]() |

Quote:How can a person justify having a store that's hidden behind locks and bolts? It's just insane.... We couldn't justify it. It is insane, and the P4S/Marty/cheerleader brigade's refrain of "traffic is down because of (take your pick: tax time, Summer)" sure doesn't explain why our eBay Store's traffic was down by 70% from the prior year during the second quarter while our website traffic was up very strongly from the same period last year. The extremely slow sales many eBay sellers have experienced is due to eBay manipulating the search to hide Stores. On the subject of Stores not included in the main search: I'm finding it rather amusing that any eBay Stores owners would even consider Wagglepop where most store inventory format items are also excluded from the main search. Very few auction/"venue" type sites include all store items in the main search. The few where store items are included in the main search are eBid (free 1st store, each additional store $1.99) iOffer (also free stores), Etsy, Ecrater, and a few others. |

Back to WP, one of those sellers on the eBay Stores board asked to have her WP account closed.

Yea, I saw that post. Seems that Ray has it set up so if you close your *store*, he gets even by deleting your *account* in total and banning you for life. :

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I got the impression with the deleting of the id thing that it has to do with the ability to be put into a different pricing package (i.e. $9.95 per month). It sounds like they might have two different automated set-ups running in parallel with one charging a flat rate, and the other charging at individual listing prices. That's my guess as to why they have to shut down the id along with the store, although I would think that you'd be able to sign up again. It's a round-about way, but my guess is that there will be a time when all sellers will need to have a store in order to list.
As far as the store listings not being seen, that's true, however with that flat rate thing, all a seller needs to do is to select "One Bid" rather than "Store Inventory" and all the items will be seen -- and the pricing still remains under the flat monthly rate. I asked why they even kept the store inventory option available, and I guess there's some thinking that in certain cases, it might cause you to compete with yourself and/or dilute the value of something (if a million of them are seen in a glance), so the option is there to "hide" things in your store if you choose to do that -- and that makes a certain amount of sense to me. |

I kinda sorta apologize that I'm having so much entertainment with WP this time around. I just can't seem to help it. :
![]() It's kinda like going after xpp. I can't seem to help that, either, when the occasion arises -- it's just too much fun! ![]() I still won't mind eating crow if WP ends up a sensational success with gazillions of buyers. With Karen/Ray at the helm, and reports of severe slowness already with only 400 stores, I don't think I'll have too much to worry about. ![]() |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OK, so I had a dream last night.
That I saw a commercial for WP on TV. And thought . . . damn, if Ray is ponying over the money for TV ads, I'll list something other than my fee hike protest listing. And then I woke up. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The suggestion to change to dial-up and bypass routers is getting to be tooooooooooo weird.
Since the site looks so much like eBay, Karen/Ray should just use the eBay line... "empty your cache, clear your cookies, and reboot" BS. I had NO expectations for WP and wished them no harm... however, denying a problem exists and blowing smoke is just too much. I guess Karen/Ray learned from the best. |
